Not much anymore
I think I still like the idea of this team.
The idea of this team is some sort of version of the Lions.

A bunch of mean ass kickers on the o-line and some Tiger tank RB just bulldozing through teams with some explosive play action bombs down the field mixed in. And then a bunch of ass kickers on the DL with some long, physical corners on the outside and LBs and safeties flying to the ball. TOP of 40 minutes a game where they just grind their opponents down to nothing.

This is the fever dream of Mike Tomlin.

Franchise and it's storied history, absolutely.

Some of those in certain positions, they can rot.

For one, Tomlin has really erased the positives accomplished earlier on. Like the person who long overstays his welcome, being far less useful than when he arrived.

The Steelers defense is holding the Bengals to under 6ypa and they are tackling well. Find a way to get a lead, turn up the pressure and Pittsburgh will finish the regular season with a win!

The chances that we score 22 points to the Bengals 15 (28.3 per game) in the second half and win?

That’s the first mistake Austin has made as a returner all year.

Horrible timing but he’s been great and Patterson isn’t a punt returner.

He made his mistake in the most inopportune moment he could.

First mistake, last mistake, no more mistakes.

These clowns are protecting the coaches. Putting it in player execution, and not piss poor predictable play calling
Not one person in the studio called out Tomlin. John Gotti has nothing on Coach Mike. Mike is the true Teflon Don.

Fireable offenses uncovered in this game:

Revealing that they don’t use Mt. Washington enough!
Seeing they are fools for not using Bishop!
Not using Fields on the Fourth down play or is he still injured?
Minkah sitting on an oil well up in Franklin PA every play!

This teams RB conundrum in a nutshell from the halftime analysts.
You don't play Najee in short yardage needing a yard when his one constant is the one yard plunge.
You don't play Warren attacking the edge when he has more burst than Najee and a fighting chance to turn the corner.
Tomlin, for almost decades now has always overthunk trying to outsmart himself.

If Tomlin allows Smith to run it on first and second down on their second half opening drive they should both be launched into the sun.

In my mind it makes sense why Donte Jackson was deactivated. Corey Trice is playing physical and holding his own against the best in the league right now. Trice has been up to the challenge thus far.

History dictates you'd have to give a nod to Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets as the greatest thrash album, but Rust in Peace is the aesthetic perfection of the form.

Maybe Cordarel would have retained the ball better.

Yeah they’re trying to lose this game.

I don’t know why.
