And it could have been worse had Philly not saved them from themselves.

Gennings Dunker not a bad consolation prize….
I suspect a ILB or Dline 4th RND pick.

I think they are going to draft Pressley Harvin V
Drew Fuckin’ Allar?
JFC
Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Deontae Lawson or Harold Perkins....ILBsSteelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 3:02 amGennings Dunker not a bad consolation prize….

Looking around the league draft boards today there are some [on paper] winners and some losers.
Steelers draft so far IMO, is below middling. I’m still not a fan of the Allar pick and trading up for Bernard seemed desperate and unnecessary.
The Everette pick seemed better at the time due to those two previous picks but now doesn’t look as good as I first thought.
The Dunker pick also looked better than it was/is at the time. Trading up for Dunker seemed desperate like the Bernard pick.
Iheanachor pick was a shock too but at least they didn’t trade to get him. There is an argument they reached out of desperation.
Just wonder when we can get back to the days the Steelers were the talk of the draft making great moves by being patient.
Allowing good even great players just fall in their lap. No desperation, no panicking just calmly taking care of business.

They had 12 picks- trades were inevitable and necessary, really. Bernard and Dunker trades seem reasonable to me if that's who they were targeting- better than getting sniped again at least.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:19 pmLooking around the league draft boards today there are some [on paper] winners and some losers.

Like most everyone said they've been doing the past few years? I mean, they've been following consensus a lot the past few years, taking the huge value players like Payton Wilson, Darnell, Corey Trice, JPJ...Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:19 pm

It works and it doesn't. Time will tell. I don't particularly like what they've done, but I do understand that many of the players I've liked in the past that they've drafted have sucked and many of the players who gave me a gag reflex when I heard their name called ended up working out.

I expected/hoped with their riches of draft capital they would be bold and make moves.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 2:28 pm

A matter of perception, with the players on the board at the time of selection(s) the feeling was they drafted outta desperation.
Why I’m an armchair GM and they get paid the big bucks.

Be rooting for every draftee to be productive, maybe even out playing where they were drafted….
seeing that the moron tomlin is gone, i have great expectations for this draft. i'd probably be complaining a bit if mediocre mike made the picks. i'm giving mccarthy the benefit of the doubt.
i'm happy with the positions taken.

Actually dude is an awesome return man KR/PR. Steelers have not had that in a looonnnggg time. Special teams just got better. He can switch the field and even go house. Has top end speed as well. Finally, a real returner and not some RB'sWorks At A Bank wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 5:55 pmA midget WR in the 4th to go along with a massive swing and miss at QB in the 3rd.

I get that, no doubt. Dude was the best returner in CFB. We have watched our special teams be horrid in this aspect. He changes that.Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 6:04 pm…..but a 4th round pick?gojira5150 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 6:02 pmActually dude is an awesome return man KR/PR.
