NFL Sunday Ticket
Boy, AT&T are being some bastards this year. I have called twice trying to get a deal like i did last year and they say there are no promotions. Last year i called in mid June and after this and that basically got it for 120$. They even let me cancel the auto-renewel. Didnt hesitate. Told me some bullshit about emailing me if any promotions come up. Its literally the only reason i keep Directv. I am stuck in Browns country and the thought of being stuck watching that shit all year makes my stomach crawl. Hell, i wont even turn it on if thats the only game on. Fuck that. I wonder if its because its the last year they are having it, they are being hard about it? And it seems i might do better if i actually talked to someone in America. Those people in India are just following a script. They put you on hold, act like they are looking for promotions, come back and say no. My question is, have any of you guys called and got a promotion yet? I cant be the only one dealing with this. Sorry for the long post, but i am super pissed.

I had problems last year getting it. I ended up not getting it for the first time since 1999 when I started with DirecTV. I live in Youngstown so I only needed for 1 game last year so I just went over my buddies house. I'm with you, the absolute only reason I have DirecTV is for the Sunday ticket. I looked at the Browns and Steelers schedule, I shouldn't need it this year either.

See, thats some bullshit, why last year did i get such a great deal and you didnt? I need to call the real customer service there and actually threaten to cancel Directv. Problem is they will probably oblige me and its a bitch switching cable. I just need one person on here to tell they have gotten a deal this year and oh im calling India back and its on. I like having it to for Fantasy football and the good 4 oclock games. Not getting stuck watching the Bengals at Raiders because Cincy is closer to me.
PIT usually on national tv about 9-10 times a year.
Just stream the games that aren't - reddit usually has links, or you use a vpn and pay like $23 per game for NFL Europe gamepass.

I’ve gotten a deal every year for long time now. Not looking forward to making the call yet again this year.
Directv customer service was great when they were their own thing. Sucks now that it’s AT&T.
Not a fan of AT&T at all these days. Too big a pain in the ass to change at present as I have too much of my stuff through them.
Not worth the hassle to allocate time at this point.

Oh my god. I just used the chat option on directvs site. Jesus, i got transferred 4 times, they said they have no deals, then have me a new phone number to call. The names were all Carlos, Samantha, Diego, but they were all different people. One pretended to be a manager. Guess it isnt going to happen. It will be full Baker Mayfield in my house if i want to watch football when the Steelers arent on. AT&T picks this year, Brownsmania year to draw the line. Unbelievable.

Dude, dont even bother. Its on another level this year. In that chat i threatened to switch cable companies, they did not give two shits. If you make it work then you are the man. I just tried every trick in the book. They did not bite.

I wont have time over couple of weeks to deal with it and then will be on vacation after that.
Will be a mid-August chore. I’ll circle back with results.

I actually think I'm dropping it this year. Posted before that I'm grandfather in for Sunday Ticket only, but have to do Plus as stand alone service.
Last year, cost me $400 and I needed it for exactly ONE Steeler game.
I'll just go the bar when they're not on.
Have had it since its inception in '94.

Dropped DTV after a 5 year stint specifically for Sunday Ticket. I’m the same as you Swiss; I think with the televised games last year there would have only been one game I didn’t see without Sunday Ticket. That ain’t worth 400 bones.
Didn’t the NFL change something during the last owner meetings where they have to now show two games in every market during the 1PM/4PM time slots? That should give everyone here that doesn’t get Sunday Ticket the opportunity to see more Steelers games.

Do you live in the Pittsburgh area? I needed it for maybe 4 games. I live in NE Ohio. I guess maybe ill just forget about it. Its just the days where the Browns play home games at 1, thats the only game i get. I just cant watch that shit so i will just follow Pitt games that arent on through you guys i guess. I dont do the bar scene anymore.

National TV plus the other game vs. the Browns means you'll definitely get 6 games at home.
The Steelers are only competing in the same timeslot as the Browns in weeks 12, 16, and 17; so there is a strong possibility that you'll get 7 additional games as well.

Update to you and all other Ticket guys. I called that number i posted, totally different call. This girl got me a deal where i basically pay 56$ for the ticket. They charge the whole 296$ at once, then take 20$ off my bill for 12 months. So it equaled out to 56$ out of my pocket. Unbelievable how the regular customer service people just flat out lie to you, multiple times. I worked my ass off for that deal. Anyway, i hope by me going through hell today to see ALL my Steelers games and avoid the local Browns bullshit and sharing my story i help some of you guys get a deal now too!

Just checking. Is that 296.00 the whole package or just the games. I thought they had two packages where a cheaper version is just for the games and that is it. Then there was a more expensive package that was all games, red zone, and streaming capability on a mobile device.

I think that's just the games. At least last year, Sunday Ticket Plus, which I'm required to have as a stand-alone service, was $400.

From what I've been seeing, the NFL is looking into shopping around other mediums to supply the Ticket.
Here's an article that says the NFL and AT&T/DirecTV are at an impasse: https://larrybrownsports.com/football/n ... ket/504261
Having to be a DirecTV subscriber to get the Ticket is pretty archaic given the alternatives. Let's hope AT&T allows the deal to expire and the new avenue for Ticket is a streaming service.

You get a couple things, one of which I use all the time. You can stream on your device. I watch on my laptop when using Sunday ticket. Presumably, you can then use away from home, but not internationally as I've learned. Also, you can accgess replays of all games on the following Tuesday. Just the plays, takes about a half hour for the whole game

Holy crap!!!!!!
Thanks for that telephone number!!!!!
Just called it.
Just asked about cancelling. Didn't say I was going to do it. Just asked what the procedures are.......Got NFL Sunday Ticket Max totally free (cost 395.00), got an extra 5.00 a month saving overall for as long as I stay, got Showtime free for 3 months, got expanded Sports package free for 6 months, pay 17.00 a month for HBO. Got that knocked down to 7.00 a month for 6 months......guess I am staying

I don't recall if I get preseason live, but I do get NFL Network streamed so I can watch replays. Other than a 5 second (varies) delay, I've always found something.

That's impressive. I have to play that game with cable every year or two and usually settled for the new subscriber promotional price (which amounts to about $1000 per year). Lately they don't give me that any more, so I end-up switching back and forth between AT&T (which I despise) and Comcast.

Well damn, that makes my deal look shitty. I was proud of my deal. I never said anything about cancelling though. Just complained about the run around i was getting. Its amazing though how they just do whatever they want, lie too certain people, give other people great deals. Like someone else said, im ready for someone else to get the Nfl ticket. Although, it will then just become a set price, no more negotiating. You are welcome for the number!

I was hoping to find a thread about DTV discounts this year. I just called them when I noticed the NFL Sunday Ticket automatically renewed for this season and my 1st payment was already added to this months bill. I asked them what kind of deal they could offer me for being a Direct TV customer the past 20+ years and the guy on the phone basically laughed and said, "Sorry, we're not offering any discounts on this package" I told him I haven't paid full price in at least the past 10 years and his response was, "Well, it sounds like you did pretty well up until now" ....
Needless to say, I think I'm done with Direct TV. They could give two shits about loyalty.

It really is pretty exorbitant. I'm glad I'm back in an area where I might have to go to the Steeler bar twice in a season.
