They don't want him for their #2 WRs, you guys don't get it.

Is he even an upgrade for either one of those guys?

Yeah, he sucks right now. I don't know what's up with him, the one deep ball Ben threw to him he just ran and didn't even look for it, it was actually odd looking?

I agree, I've done it myself, pissed on an employer where I felt I wasn't going to get ahead, and said fuck this team and hit the road. I mean, I get the idea, I'd rather be the star and get paid on a bad team than be nothing on a good team. So if he doesn't improve, I'd trade him after the season. I have nothing against being selfish, because I can relate to that.

No kidding. Delusional to think anyone is going to trade the Steelers anything of value for a malcontent idiot with drug history. He's stuck in Pittsburgh until the off season.

Exactly Charles! What team is going to want the mess that is MB. I don't look at the all-22, but is he ever open quite a bit to make a claim for himself that he should see more targets?

This was my recurring question in the game thread yesterday. CBS follows the ball. They don't follow the individual players in their routes unless the ball is passed to them. I saw Martavis disappear play after play yesterday and never seemed to be targeted by Ben. If I'm Bryant I'm frustrated too. Anyone with all 22 should be able to see where Bryant is on the field any given time in relation to the pass before and after. Love to know why Bryant isn't being targeted.

The first thing I thought of when Ju Ju caught that TD and did that celebration - was that Bryant is probably pissed off (and I guess he was).

This dude is bad news. Nothing about this guy is team first.

Utterly irrelevant.

Bryant is not behaving like a professional and his attitude is not helping the team. Since I want the team to win, I disapprove of this very strongly.

I think Martavis may have some real psychological problems. It's beyond just being a retard.

My problem with him is that his head does not seem to be in the game. The bomb from Ben is the latest example. He made zero effort to track the ball even though it hung up for a while. I honestly don't know what he was doing.

But to me, the telling play came on that little curl route at the 4 yard line in the first half. 2015 Martavis had such incredible quickness and burst. Just think back to the playoff game with Denver and how his speed destroyed that fast Denver D to the edge. 2015 Bryant would have turned and beaten that Cincy corner. Instead, he was tackled easily and no TD. This "bulking up" in Vegas seems to have been a really bad idea.

Let's remember one thing. One of the reasons we lost the AFCCG was because Coates and Hamilton effectively dropped easy TDs. They sucked on a day when Ben was slinging it well. Unless Martavis is a total locker room cancer right now (and he may be), we can't afford to be getting rid of weapons as the playoffs approach. Ben needs all of the toys he can get and we just have to hope Alien works out of this funk.

THATS THE BOTTOM LINE.

Its a long season.
AB or JuJu gets dinged......
And we lose/trade MB.............
Hello Rogers and or DHB.

You do not trade this kid.
Not at $615 the next 2 years.

Somehow he needs to get right in the head.

I would not doubt that because of his own actions, suspension, social media comments the last year or so and as of late.............
That he does not have very close team mates.
Probably does not have anyone that has taken him under his wing.
Bryant Island.

Probably has team mates thinking........man, what could I do if I had his god given frame, ability and speed. And they just shake their heads.
Probably has teammates that may not care to see him improve....as they would rather see more play time targets, catches, numbers and money.

It is in everyones best interest to make this work. And not just trade him away or bury him on the bench.
We are not very good at scoring TDs
We are not very good in the red zone.
Taking MB away from the equation....makes the problem worse.
Period.

He is as immature mentally for a 25 year old.
Coaching staff needs to help this kid.

I think this kid is immature....frustrated for sure....but at the end of the day no one really gives a fuck how he feels. Just make your opportunities count. He hasn’t done that....at least not yet.

He’s quick to point out how he worked his ass off to get back....with little help from anyone....but to me that’s only worth so much....as he put himself in that position to begin with. A little fucking humility wouldn’t hurt at this point....as the Steelers are probably one of the few teams that would’ve given him another shot.

Like it or not, the Steelers own his ass through next season. Sometimes when you’re young you need someone in your inner circle to give you a reality check.....or a kick in the balls if you will...

Martavis....look up....get up....shut the fuck up....man up....and play. Just play.... Have a little faith that the rest will take care of itself.

What's sad is that he apparently doesn't give a shit about being on the #1 seeded team in the AFC at the moment or that he has a real chance for a SB. But even worse, he apparently doesn't care about his support system for staying clean, which just goes to show how immature he really is. Remember when we were all defending him before the season? Saying it was the NFL's fault for delaying his reinstatement, and that he was doing everything he needed to do? Bull. Shit. What this dumbass doesn't realize is that he's not magically cured. He's going to be an addict the rest of his life, and every single day he's going to have to deal with that and manage that. So yeah, get yourself traded to Miami and uproot your whole life and support system to South Beach. Or how about LA, Martavis? Or Denver? Dude doesn't give a shit.

Either way, it would be dumb to trade him. His value is low, and if you trade him you're a ding to AB away from starting Juju, Eli Rogers, and DHB in a playoff game. Ugh. But I don't think you can have him running his mouth off either. It is becoming a weekly distraction, and Tomlin needs to shut it down. And if MB can't shut up? Bench his ass.

JuJu is gonna get manhandled by better teams.

Catches everything thrown his way.
Catches in traffic......with guys on his back.
Works the middle of the field.
Shed a defender after catch, showed balance and got out of bounds during last minute of half.

Smart enough in working the middle of the field............to lose defenders and break open like yesterday.
Will finish the season with 40-45 for 550-600 with 5 or 6 TD's
Doing most of his work in the middle of the field.

He does something to impress us every game.

Totally agree. JuJu has "it." A good draft with JuJu, Watt, Conner.
The only reason they got Coates was insurance against MB. This year it's Hunter. I don't see any other teams putting up with this bullshit. MB has problems. He wants to be fed the ball like they do with AB. Just.Not.Gonna.Happen. He doesn't have the skills for that. Hasn't proven he can be trusted, yet whines like a 5 year old when he doesn't get the accolades or candy. Now we know how he handled the pressure of being humbled after blowing a great opportunity. Not well.

Indeed. The guy is acting like a tool and, Chef, you're complaining that a lot of us are not happy that he is behaving in a way detrimental to the team? If it turns out his account was hacked or it turns out to be some other shenanigans, fine. But it seems to me that it is your position that is silly. Not ours.

We want the team to get a Lombardi. In what universe does such behavior contribute to reaching and winning a SB?

Bryant has special talent. But his current attitude and comportment, if indeed reality is here correctly identified with appearance, are going to keep him from actualizing most of that potential.

Chef is obviously trolling for responses. He is no longer even being discreet about it. He's getting lazy.

MB is not as important to this team as many of you think. Sometimes you cut out the cancer and the entire team get's healthier. He's moving himself towards a cancer diagnosis.

This is about more than football.

The NFL/NFLPA really fucked up with the rules of no contact between a player and the club during a drug suspension.

I just want mines, period, point-blank. Ain't nobody did nothing to get me back. I worked my ass off to get myself back with no help and little support, period. In due time the process will show."

Ramon Foster and James Harrison are the only Steelers who kept contact and reached out to Bryant during the suspension

I understand everyone loves the Steelers and hates the distractions...This situation is a powder keg ready to explode

I agree FC. With the ways the rules are written and if the Steelers FO decided some tough love was the way to go when he got back it may have caused more harm than good in this case. I think MB feels pretty alone on this team, warranted or not. Tough love (if it was/is being used) is not always the best solution with the mentally/psychologically fragile.

I'm sort of with Bryant on this one-- I mean, i think he should stay the hell off of instagram and avoid getting goaded into saying something he'll regret-- but they are giving Bryant almost nothing to work with and then wondering why he's not more involved.

Yesterday, he blocked great, fought for as much as he could get on his two touches-- and was almost totally ignored, except for one low-percentage deep ball after he'd been a decoy for two hours of elapsed time.

You have to give the guy some in-breaking routes and some looks other than a deep route into double coverage after he's been uninvolved for hours.

Juju has been great at what he's been tasked to do, but he's running from the slot and as a pseudo TE. He's not replacing Bryant as the outside deep threat any time soon. I haven't looked at the results to be sure, but I'm pretty confident that the box got tighter and the run game success got lessened when Juju started replacing Bryant on the field as the game went on. That's not a knock on Juju's blocking, just that the safety is coming downhill.

Watching the game yesterday & hearing how Tomlin is so good at mentoring Ju Ju - yes, but who is mentoring MB. The team knew his family history. The FO got a high round talent in the fourth round but seem unwilling to help give him the emotional support to help MB achieve his potential. The Steelers should just cut MB & watch Bellicheat transform MB back into the superstar he could/should become.
