91 vs Redskins got blown out. Redskins were loaded that year.
93 vs Oilers, lost and froze my balls off.
95 vs Vikings, the Cowher stuffing a picture into refs pocket. Lost
97 Sunday night vs Ravens won in a shut out/ blow out 37-0. Went to Copes Cabana afterwards and listened to the post game and drank a few more beers.
A preseason game vs Atlanta but can't remember if it was 09 or 10.
I was at that Sunday night against the ravens, curtain, and I'll bore that all of you with the story I've told told before.

TRS was a great venue for heckling the opponents upon their arrival to the stadium. Their bus would pull up to a sidewalk underneath the stadium and the players would exit into the street literally about 10 feet from whoever was assembled to heckle them. Well, I was one of the assembled hecklers on that Sunday night, and I'll actually take credit for helping the steelers win.

Vinny testaverde, at that time the ravens quarterback had talked about his development as a pro being hindered by his five interception performance in the Fiesta Bowl against Penn State after the 1982 season, denying his Miami squad the national championship, which went to Penn State instead. Well, knowing this, when Vinny exited the bus, I yelled repeatedly"hey Vinny, fiesta Bowl, Vinny Fiesta Bowl!! "Well, wouldn't you know and you can check the old play-by-play that testaverde threw interceptions on each of the ravens first three possessions whereupon was benched. so yes… I'll take credit for that win.
I remember alot of turnovers, that was a great game to go to. My brother surprised me for my birthday, just turned 23. I think you told a story about driving to a game vs the Browns during a snow storm with you and your buddies drinking on the way. That's what we did, although the weather for this game was actually nice, different times. I still have the pictures with me, Cope, and Hillgrove taken during a comercial break during Copes Cabana after the game. 97 was a fun Steelers team.

I have written about the 94 playoff game against the Browns, it wasn't me telling the story about the drive to the game in horrid weather drinking all the way. I remember that story being told but I forget who told it. I've always described that game as."the closest thing I've ever had to a religious experience".... first game I've been to in six years first playoff game in 16 years. TRS a sea of terrible towels the crowd chanting in unison… Here we go Steelers here we go… And then the absolute highlight, Yancey Thigpen catching a late in the first half touchdown pass in the end zone right in front of me stopping and taking a terrible towel out from within his jersey and twirling it as the crowd went insane. That was another multiple interception game by testaverde, if memory serves.

2 both at 3 Rivers.

Game Rod Woodson tore his ACL v Lions (Barry Sanders...) in 1995, also year they went to SB and well fuck NoD.

AFCCG v Broncos (97-98) and fuck Kordell Stewart and Gailey. Bus was running it down Bronco's throat and of course Gailey decides to let Kordell gift the Broncos a trip to the SB.

Right, the Chan Fuckin Gailey game. Steelers have 2nd and 1 inside the Denver 35 about three minutes to half, up 14 to 10. Elway on the other side line. Run the fucking ball pick up the first down exhaust the clock go in at half up by at least seven points receiving the second half kickoff. Kordell had nearly had two passes picked throwing it into double coverage.

But no. Gailey has Kordell throw deep and of course it's intercepted. When the smoke clears, or trailing 24-14 at half. I'm still pissed off thinking about that game , spoiled an otherwise magical season

I think Cowher wanted to prove Kordell could be a passer.

Dumb call by Gailey. Dumb Cowher for allowing it.

I was at a game in TR where the Korky experiment was showing some structural issues. Pastor Bill cared about the underserved so much.

Korky was having a bad day, I think he got yanked, and was at least twenty yards away from the rest of the team pouting, he was inconsolable, because dammit, he was really a QB.

Might have been the game where he got a beer dumped on his head.

Now the bad memories of the FGB years are starting to creep in.

Don't forget a month earlier, Korky lit up the Broncos to lead the Steelers to a come from behind victory. Unfortunately, it was a sign of things to come.

Kordell was a horrible choker. He was mentally weak and would fall apart when things started to go wrong. 1997 and 2001 AFCC games are great examples of this.

Still stunned we lost that game. Remember that we picked off Elway on his 1st drive. And an underrated consequence of that INT was that Norm Johnson, a truly reliable kicker from inside 45 yards, missed a chip shot. Those 3 points would end up being critical.

Yeah, was a bad day all around. Yancey, who had dropped like one or two passes all year drop one on a third down just before half with Denver then leaving 17-14. Denver converted that drop with the help of per my memory a second passinterference call on Carnell Lake into a 2414 halftime lead.

Lots of good memories in this thread. Wish i kept track or remebered all of the games I went to.

I'm in Jersey....10 minutes from Jets stadium....
So been to a few games vs Jets and Giants.
Several pre-season games too.

Season tickets since 2018, so 2 or 3 trips a year

Was at the home opener in 2019 vs Seattle in which Ben hurt his elbow.

A loss to the Cowboys in 2024....with 20 seconds left.

A few weeks later in 2024 in Pitt vs Jets......fun road trip with my two boys and two Jet fan friends of my older son....
Met up with a bunch of his other friends out there...- all Jets fans...
Aaron Rodgers with Jets vs Russell Wilson...
Steelers down 15-6 half way thru the 2nd quarter....was looking like a long drive home...
Steelers scored the last 31 points = 37-15

Went to the 2025 opening week win vs Jets...Boz 60 yarder
Chatted with B2B in the parking lot. We also met 12-15 years earlier at Steelers Friday night lights.

Met the thread author, Swiss, at a Penguins game and then the Steelers game the following Sunday.
I will bet Swiss knows the game......was a sunny good weather game a few years back.

Then went the following week to the Steelers home opening loss to the Seahwaks...watched Kaleb Johnson not cover the ball in the endzone.
Hey.... I saw the eventual SB champs..

2017 drubbing by the Jags - Ben 5 INT game.

Sat in the upper deck during that December 2003 blizzard game, 6-0 loss to the Jets in old Giants Stadium....with my wife.

Was at the 2002 playoff comeback win vs the Browns in January of 2003.

Pre-season vs the Giants in that monstocity of a new stadium a few years back. You wind up watching alot of the game on the big screen...especially when the ball is at other end.

Pre-season game in Philly - animals I tell you.

Pre-season game in Atlanta on a stop over drive to Florida....maybe 2001.

2015 pre-season game vs Vikings the year Bettis was elected.....
great road trip with my middle son.
Friday Steelers training camp in Latrobe.
Drove into Pittsburgh that Friday night...scalped tickets.....Pirates vs Dodgers....Cole vs Kershaw.

Drove to Canton Saturday morning - drove thru a pretty desolate area - saw two cops just standing over a dead girl, half in the street, half on curb.
Hall of Fame most of Saturday. Met Tim Brown, Wr in the bust room - he was elected that year two. My son ghas a picture with him.

Induction ceremnies Saturday night.
Hall of fame game Sunday - Suisham blew out his knee.

Love the 1:00 Sunday games.....leave NJ Saturday moring.......caught a few Penguins Saturday nite games, a Pantehre game once.
Watch Steelers and then hit the road 5:00-6:00...usually back home before 11:00 p.m.

Great accounting, Stosh. And it was that regular season loss to the Jags in 2017, the one that broke my boys 10 game undefeated skein at Steeler games, where we visited in the stands. And thanks again for the beers you bought us at the Pens game.

And speaking of my boy's streak, included some great ones...02 OT vs browns, Tommy Maddox debut, 04 Sunday nite win v pats, 05 Monday nite win vs ravens where the lady behind us repeatedly screamed "break his fuckin leg!!" And the highlight of them all....08 AFCCG!!!

Yup...
jags game. Good recall.
As they come back to me...
Went to Steelers vsc Giants in MetLife 2012.
Won 24-20.
Friend of mine worked at stadium .... got me and my boys down on field before game during warm ups.
Probably 12-15 feet away from steelers defenders getting in stance and banging one another.
The mass of Casey Hampton...
Woodley and Harrison such a presence.
I'll have to dig up photos

I couldn't even guess. I've been to quite a few pre-season, regular season and a couple of playoff games. I was at the FG game at three rivers against Baltimore I believe. The Steelers won and made at least five FG's. I was also at the painful playoff loss against Jacksonville at home, I think it was 2007? David Garrard sealed their win with a run and there was obvious holding on the play.

That giants game, JL58 & I watched at a Steeler bar in chestnut hill, Mass, since closed due to offering no help to a patron who fell down the stairs, covering it up. It's actually the third stealer bar where I've watched games that's been closed due to failure to render aid, fights, financial irregularities.

Yup...

The old hags giving us pizza! And the crazy woman in the Timmons jersey. Good times!
