This is actually the best news I’ve heard all day.
At least that incompetent fuck won’t be coming back. Art the Lessor liked those family FedEx rates.

I'm definitely not a fan but it will be interesting to see what happens. If he has success there then perhaps he wasn't allowed to do what he wanted to in Pittsburgh. That said, it just as likely, if not more likely that he will fail at OSU.
The best part of this news is that we know he won't be back here. Don't let the door hit ya!!
Sadly we still have an even more impactful Art that is staying

See you guys for the board mock, I wouldn’t miss it. My interest in the Steelers is at an all-time low, but I’m still a draft junkie. Way too much to learn from you draft studs around here.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.
The idea of Art II hiring Arthur Smith to get a team wide discount from FedEx is strangely plausible and had never really occurred to me.CoolShades wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:25 amThis is actually the best news I’ve heard all day.

The movie is good for Smith and maybe he's willing to try new things. More so than he appeared, but I fail to see how what he does translates to college. I'm not the biggest college guy by any means. He will have more talent than most of his competition right off the bat so it's like...if you can't look good in that environment, where can you look good?Stillerz Bar wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 3:45 amI'm definitely not a fan but it will be interesting to see what happens. Ohio Smith has been a good place for NFL cast-offs to go and rebuild their image of late in general.
I just threw up in my mouth a little!Ohio Smith

This move speaks volumes about the type of coach was brought in by ownership.
Not one franchise even desired this coach for anything more than their own diligences.
Embarrassing to me, he was reduced to coaching at the collegiate level instead of the pros.

Glad you're in for the mock, and yeah, there were other candidates I was hoping for, and I can’t see how Ohio State's personnel meshes with Artie's offense. They've run 3 WR as a base since Day has been there, and recruit elite WRs to do it. The TE, even a talented one like Klare this year, is an afterthought. Very odd fit, though it's mostly Day's offense.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 1:27 pmA kick square in the nuts from the football gods yesterday.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:07 amBad day got worse for Charles and Ice

Maybe some of that FedEx money got promised for NIL.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Cignetti and Penn State both approve.
Though Penn State will still lose.

What I will say about Smith is that I have rarely seen an OC make SO MANY DAMN SUBSTITUTIONS as he did. And, his player selections dictated formation and almost always allowed the defense to know what type of play was coming.
Just poor all the way around. He might workout at OSU because they are always loaded talent-wise, but that doesn't mean he's a good coach. The only time he's ever been successful is when he had prime King Henry, a kick-butt Oline, and AJ Brown.
