The idea of firing McDermott and hiring Tomlin is like firing Rodgers and signing Stroud, if Stroud played for 19 years like he did yesterday.

Bills won 8 playoff games in 9 seasons, were competitive in every game and that wasn’t good enough for them.
Steelers won 0 playoff games in 9 seasons and got blown out even single time, yet were excited to run it back with Tomlin.
Bills would be absolute morons to want a clearly inferior coach like Tomlin. I’d imagine they have one of these young innovative coaches in mind as an upgrade. Thats what smart franchise do.

This is bad news for the Steelers as the Bills are a much more appealing team than the Steelers (given they have Josh Allen and we have....Will Howard and Bibberty)
Tomlin went to 2 Super Bowls with a QB a LOT like Josh Allen. Cool Shades has a Super Bowl ring.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:37 pmThe idea of firing McDermott and hiring Tomlin is like firing Rodgers and signing Stroud, if Stroud played for 19 years like he did yesterday.
That can’t be denied.
While Tomlin’s message grew stale in Pittsburgh, it would be fresh in Buffalo and the Bills’ window is closing. They are about winning NOW, YESTERDAY. They probably won’t be interested in a young coordinator.
Buffalo is all about winning right now and Tomlin would make a ton of sense for them whether we like Mikey T. or not.

Imagine Tomlin telling Josh Allen they are only throwing behind the line of scrimmage or down the sidelines because the only way to win games is winning the turnover battle and playing defense.

I could see the Bills going with Brian Daboll, dont think theyd go with a young unproven guy.

If the Bills hire Tomlin, it shows they weren't paying attention to the Steelers in the 2010s. He wasted to career of a guy who played like Josh Allen. Hire Tomlin and they guarantee Allen gets no rings.K_C_ wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:47 pmTomlin went to 2 Super Bowls with a QB a LOT like Josh Allen. Long story short, McDermott would be working if he had the ref crew that called the Rams catch correctly.
Stupid to fire a coach for ref mistake and the brain dead decisions of Allen at the end of the first half.
Scapegoat.
And Tomlin makes ZERO sense if the goal is winning now. He makes sense if Buffalo's goal is to go 9-8 and lose in the first round.

Beane should have been the one canned. On a separate note, that was an NT all day in the Buff/Den game.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:53 pmLong story short, McDermott would be working if he had the ref crew that called the Rams catch correctly.

I 100% agree that Tomlin wasted the second half of Roethlisberger’s career but he also won a Super Bowl with Ben when he first arrived and went to another a few years later.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:50 pmIf the Bills hire Tomlin, it shows they weren't paying attention to the Steelers in the 2010s. The narrative right now with Tomlin is that he got the most out his talent in Pittsburgh, even this year with 42 year old Aaron Rodgers. The 2025 Steelers were not a very talented group. That isn’t even arguable.
Tomlin isn’t the long term solution anywhere but I could 100% see Buffalo having a 5 year plan to go to and win Super Bowls with Mike Tomlin as their guy.
I don’t know if it will happen, but this sure looks like the PERFECT landing spot for Tomlin, if he wants to coach in 2026.

Douche of a human and terrible GM
Disagree about the int. Cooks entire ass literally touched the ground before the db stole the ball
Play was dead
Bills kick FG
game over
McDermott keeps his job and I’m not stuck watching Jarrett Stidham attempting to play football in a conference title game

Drama, the way the rule is written, thats an INT all day imo. No clear possession established until the player survives the ground, not the instannce his knee touches. but survives the ground. That ball changed hands pretty much immediately when they hit the ground.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 3:09 pmAgree Beane should’ve been the one shit cannedGreeksteel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:55 pmBeane should have been the one canned. That was a catch. Cooks survived the ground with the ball, albeit briefly, before the defender took it away. I think the owner sees the situation where the teams window is closing quickly, and if he doesn’t make some sort of change, this opportunity will go by without a Super BowlSteeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 3:09 pmAgree Beane should’ve been the one shit cannedGreeksteel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 2:55 pmBeane should have been the one canned. In regard to the interception
The bills receiver had the ball momentarily, landed on the ground, did not make a football move or survive the ground.
As the two players rolled through the momentum, the defender came away with the ball.
By rule that is an interception
I was sitting right next to an NFL review official who explained exactly why and how
I disagreed with it at first, but understood his point.
And to people who say the, “survive the ground” and “football move”, verbiage have been removed It has not. It’s just written in a different section of the rule book
Several Bills fans want Tomlin but are concerned 1) about having to compensate the Steelers and 2) about Tomlin's alleged affair and baby out of wedlock.
Not sure why they give a fuck about the second part but I guess they do.

Correct. 10000% an INT. Surviving the ground is the key and Cooks didnt do that.

By that rationale they'd be better off hiring Cowher. So now the thesis is that Tomlin got the most out of untalented teams. Even though he fails repeatedly to cover spreads in big games.
Then explain losses to Girrard Bortles Tebow and Cleveland in playoffs.
He repeatedly shit the bed and lost badly in the playoffs to mediocre teams and wasn't competitive against NE at all.
Even the 18-16 win against the Chiefs his last playoff win was a disappointment given that was peak Killer Bees.

Tomlin has been out of coaching, what, 2 weeks? Sure there are rumors that he doesn't want to coach again in 2026 but if Cool Shades better seriously consider this job if the Bills come calling, because Tomlin 100% needs a superstar, difference making QB to win a Lombardii and the Bills literally have THE single best QB in the NFL (who also happens to play a lot like Roethlisberger once did in his prime.)
Tomlin will absolutely not have a better opportunity to win big again than this Buffalo job.
If Tomlin is smart, he should call the Bills.

I speculated this the other day, I think it would definitely be a job that peaks Tomlin's interest, I'm just hoping the Steelers get some draft compensation for the idiot while they can.
Not disagreeing in the least bit, but that will be the narrative and again, Tomlin does have a Super Bowl ring and did go to the big game twice.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Mon Jan 19, 2026 3:27 pmSo now the thesis is that Tomlin got the most out of untalented teams. He's going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Just sayin', don't be surprised if Tomlin is Bufalo's dude.
Belichick is older than dirt, looks older than dirt and looks close to dementia ridden. I will be SHOCKED if he's Buffalo's choice.
Mike McCarthy doesn't make any sense.
If Buffalo wants to win now, Tomlin makes the most sense for them.
