Tomlin is gone - Official!
Re: Tomlin is gone - Official!
The obvious, most hilarious thing for Art II to do would be to hire John Harbaugh.

Given how the season unfolded, with PIT backing into the AFCN title in historic fashion....maybe all 4 coaches SHOULD have been fired
Never get to NHALS without going 4-2 against the turd slop "rivals" in the Norff

Now if we only can hire an offensive coach.
This makes sense. Tomlin was so calm while facing the heat this year. He knew he was done.
And it would be malpractice not to call Curt Cignetti, just to be 100% sure.
I hope you are wrong. I don’t want Flores or any defensive guy.
Plus, the last idiot DC we hired from Minnesota stuck around like a cold sore.
No, I want a young OC who knows how to develop a QB.
Cignetti will be tough. I think he just signed a big fat long contract.
But I’d love it.

Someone already said it...
Kubiak should be at the top of the list.
Kubiak should be at the top of the list.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.
Harbaugh is more overrated than Tomlin. Harbaugh had a Sb roster for at least 4 years and figured out a myriad of ways to cock it up.
As much as I am happy to see Tomlin gone? If Tomlin had Lamar, he would have at very least made a SB. For one simple reason, Tomlin would've pounded teams with Henry in the playoffs.

Praise Jesus.
We have closed the book on Coach T and his massive ineptitude. It is a great resetting.
I fear what comes next but it is as if a billion pound Primanti corned beef and cheese has been removed from my shoulders.

I don't know....thinking teams are going to trade for Tomlin is almost as bad as people thinking Tomlin could win a playoff gameSteelperch wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 7:26 pmWe need to root for Tomlin to get the itch to coach a year from now and the Steelers get a pick for his rights

Or, hell, Curt Cignetti
But I believe Brian Flores is the frontrunner right now.

Except Henry would have been out in mid December with 2000+ yards and hammy injuries after having been run into the ground.

We're on the same page, Clan. Get rid of as many big contracts as we can and just reboot.
Clear out the entire coaching staff as well.
Maybe even bring in a priest to cleanse the facilities.

I want Kubiak but I suspect he will go somewhere with a better roster (aka franchise Qb). Giants, Commanders and Ravens all possibilities.
I'd be ok with Minter but then the OC pick becomes vital. Would not be opposed to McDaniel ...

Had my head in a bunch of papers at my office when my son called me with the news. After I got off the phone I literally had to tell myself that it was not a dream. No more Tomlin. No more Arthur Smith. No more Austin. Maybe I am dreaming! Time to celebrate!

I am so energized..like a convict being freed and blinking from the (long absent) sun in his eyes..fucking unbelievable.
I hope Deuce leaves as well obviously. And I hope we get a HC with an offensive mind or at least one who will hire a good OC and not interfere too much.
We have our team back, lads!

Someone commented on the Steelers announcement on Facebook:
The NFL could be really funny if this happened:
Harbaugh -> Pittsburgh
Stefanski -> Baltimore
Tomlin -> Cleveland

Its a weird feeling, having optimism for the team's future.
As opposed to the numbness and apathy resulting from Tomlin's legacy of mediocrity.

Wahoo! I've come a long way from defending Tomlin years ago. The Browns playoff game in which the opposing coach wasn't even on the sideline was my breaking point. I feel like Charlie Brown making solid contact with that football!!
Everyone is interviewing Klint Kubiak...
From a Seattle Seabirds blog: Kubiak isn't just an example of one-year greatness. He has been an OC twice before in the NFL, and his teams were productive before they were mangled by injuries. That didn't happen with the Seahawks in 2025, and people saw what a Kubiak offense was capable of.
