Ravens at Steelers Game Comments & The Airing of Grievances

Post by bradshaw2ben » Sun Jan 04, 2026 12:44 pm

For the blind homers: A chance to start a Super Bowl run
For the hopeful: the last reagular season game in the Mike Tomlin era
For the cynical: a win sets the Steelers up to be annihilated at the hands of probably the Houston Texans
For the pessimists: nothing matters, it's all hopeless

ENJOY!

You forgot the realists, Wil.....want Tomlin gone, know he won't be, and just want to see the season extended a week (and will then become the hopeful that Steelers could actually win a home playoff game).

I wouldn’t classify it realist. It’s the “Swissvale” category 8-)

Today's game is, in effect, a playoff game. The loser doesn't play again until September, and the winner has taken a step toward a championship, and will play again next week.

The Steelers are in a 5 game playoff right now. They will be the champions if they win 5 straight, and will be finished for the season if they lose any game. The only difference is that there can be no ties in the official playoffs, whereas a tie game could happen today, and then the Steelers would advance and the Ravens would be eliminated.

The Steelers are in the same position as they would be in if the NFL had abandoned the regular season this year, and put all 32 teams in the playoffs, which would have 5 rounds. Whichever team runs off 5 straight wins would be the champions.

So what have the Steelers accomplished over the last 16 games? Nothing, but they didn't blow the season yet either.

Eisen just referred to Boswell as the “Dexter of NFL kickers” in reference to Tomlin calling Boz a serial killer with a low pulse rate

Here We Go Steelers!!!

Hoping the Steelers get at least 1 more point than the Rats.

I really thought they would go 11-6. But 10-7 will get them in the dance.
NHALS secured. Check.
In the playoffs. Check
AFCN Champions. Check
Beat the Texans. In progress

Tomlin once again the driving force to a possible playoff game.

Don’t know what we’d do without him.

We got four hours to game time.

Counting down to the first series of the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers. Will we see three and out or will we see new wrinkles that Coach T ha shinted at.

The suspense is palpable. It is overwhelming.

Are you into humiliation rituals? I think Houston is a nightmare matchup for PIT.

The weather might slow the Texans down. The Steelers are 5-3 against them. Hopefully they will be healthier too.

Sadly, I will head to bed soon and wake up just as the game is ending. At that point, I'll have to decide if I want to know the final score immediately or read through all of the pages in this thread as if Im following along with the game. :|

Several times, I have read the thread without knowing the final score. Interesting way to recap the game.

Either way, thank you all for an enjoyable season. 8-)

I’ll go with Warren off tackle, pitch out to Kenny, Rodger’s pass to the line of scrimmage or worse -2yds behind the line of scrimmage for a 3yrd gain on 3rd and 6.

Punt.

I thought so too, but Houston D, with their regulars, wasn't exactly stellar against Riley Leonard & the colts today

Yes the weather can often play a role in the outcome of a game. Houston doesn't always play as well in the elements. Just saying.

I want pain and suffering tonight, so much so the ravens owe us damages.

Then throw in the mutual parting of ways later this week and 2026 will be off to a great start.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

I got rid of James Franklin this season, if tonight gets rid of Mike Tomlin I’ll call that an all time double up.

As for tonight, I just hope both teams have fun.

Thank God we shit the bed last week so we can enjoy this playoff game before the playoffs start.

I would have hated to just been able to relax tonight and watch Howard and Mason sling it around.

This is much better.

And, coupled w the fact we have Tomlin, what could go wrong tonight?
