So Cam gets:

$1.5 million for a SB win
$1.5 million for a league MVP

I know Khan made this deal, but in my head I'm just picturing Tomlin telling Cam - with a deadpan straight face - he gets $1.5M if they win the SB.

Don't all players get a bonus (besides a ring) for winning the SB anyway? Nothing close to a $1.5M but still an incentive.

The only time I noticed Cam is when he got blown backwards on one of the Jets' TDs.

He had one or two plays today, but was mostly invisible.

NOT a good showing for a guy who bitched about getting paid.

The only time I noticed him was after that hit by Queen on JF and he ran onto the field.

He gets his "raise" with up to $3M in incentives.

Guess it was worth it.......

Most unknowledgeable Steelers fans are considering this a win for Cam. At least that is what I am seeing on social media.

So I actually look at this as an example of good player management by the GM.

Cam walked out onto a ledge and alienated a lot of the fanbase.

Team management gave him a face saving way to climb back off that ledge.

Doesn't matter that he is very unlikely to earn any of those incentives.

Much like the Cuban Missile Crisis where we gave the Soviets a pledge never to invade Cuba and also agreed to dismantle Jupiter missile systems in Turkey that we already we were going to dismantle anyway. And they couldn't say we did it in order to end the crisis.

Not much in value given to the Soviets except a way for Khrushchev to save face (he later was ousted for the crisis anyway).

This is how I choose to look at it.

Phew. We can all breathe easy this morning. News out of the Burgh is that Cam Heyward has been sleeping a lot better after securing those new contract incentives.

Poor guy. Sleeping very important. Especially for an athlete.

I’m not sure how he was able to function with all that contract stress in his life.

I feel sooooo much better now.

Oh the irony. This morning when I arrived at the office a co-worker had a gift sitting in my chair waiting for me.

She knows I’m a Steelers fan.
