No way was there any discussion of taking Shedeur in R1.
Be dumb if they passed on him in the 5th though. Real dumb.
Makes our QB room better. Tell Rogers to fuck off and know you can possibly trade Sanders next year if need be to move up for the QB you want. A QB starved team can’t pass on him in the 5th,,,
If this team rolls with Mason at QB...

Certainly not as bad as passing on him in the 5th but still dumb and short-sighted IMO.swissvale72 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 7:48 pmPassed on him in the 4th955876 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 7:45 pmI’m glad they didn’t take him in the 1st or 3rd. We currently have the worst QB room in the league. You don’t pass on the guy many had going #2 overall in the 4th. So you miss your back-up edge rusher. Boo hoo.
A QB is more of a commodity. And that 4th rounder isn’t preventing you from taking a QB #1 next year.
Sanders might be a trade commodity or you just keep him. So what if Deon chirps.
To me this just proves how lazy Jibbs and the rest of the staff is. Why bother having to work on a kid when you are taking a QB next year. Let’s just get through NHALS with as minimal effort and repeated practices as possible.
They’ll certainly be hoping their next 1st round QB has it “figured out”.
This staff couldn’t develop a case of the herpes in a Tijuana whore house.
Short-sighted cunts with no vision.
No fear we just drafted a younger version of Mason Rudolph!
What a joke. But you kind of had to see this coming.

5/7 picks on defense and only one starter on O.
This team blows.
This team blows.

Brian Baldinger just said - not verbatim - the feeling in steelers HQ is they have the pieces in place, were 10-7 and just can’t win playoff games because of QB play … Aaron Rodgers is their answer

I am unlike most believe the team will be ok with Mason at QB
They won 3 playoff games the back half of a HOFer's career...Sure, QB is the problem.
Also, Rodgers is a horrible fit for Tomlin's philosophy - doesn't recover well from slow starts, and doesn't play well from behind. I so so so so hope he signs.
i disagree with them mostly - i posted it just to say (if close to true) they are delusional … and believe the problem is NOT their strategy, lack of development or insane predictability. they are pinning this one on Wilson and forgetting their last playoff debacles with other QBs.
they don’t see a problem with themselves

It’s like they’re running an experiment to find a way to win with the minimum qb contribution possible, rather than maximizing their chances of winning.Gonzo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 8:22 pmi disagree with them mostly - i posted it just to say (if close to true) they are delusional … and believe the problem is NOT their strategy, lack of development or insane predictability. they are pinning this one on Wilson and forgetting their last playoff debacles with other QBs.

A few years ago I might have believed it was a fine strategy because even though Ben’s elbow and ABs brain disintegrated at the same time the Pouncey/Decastro OL still had a little juice and they had each of TJ Cam and Minkah playing like all pros.
6 years later it just feels like were making a team so the HC to get most of the credit if it works out. Which it won’t.

Someone that requires development and refining just to fulfill a potential backup role.
With minimal draft picks in this draft it’s wise to spend them on BPA/need.
Seems like the Steelers view 2026 as the franchise QB draft so, just fill needs and build trenches this draft, right?
Will, isn’t Howard better than Skylar Thompson?

I think he’s as good as Mason Rudolph and I certainly love the intangibles/leadership/work ethic part of Howard. Skylar Thompson is like the WR you bring in as the emergency QB on gameday when both QBs get knocked out.Who Dee Knee wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:59 ambradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 3:45 pmNever draft a backup QB unless said backup is better than your current QB2... right now. Levis and Tomlin's risk adverse style would be comical to watch.

I mean that was the issue with Fields before he came to town, so it’s not unprecedented.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 10:18 pmbradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sat Apr 26, 2025 6:02 pmAnd as I have to keep pointing out, Levis was objectively and statistically better than Sam Darnold was before this season.
