Adams can still play and he can still get open.

I'll be the first person to say Justin Fields SUCKED today throwing the ball, but he's been fine overall this year without much in the way of targets, protection and play calling/design.

Fields is going to start again next week. Get the fucking guy some help.

Roman Wilson saw 2 snaps today.
We go into a game with the intention to run it 35 times and pass it 20-25 times just like today. Only a couple of those passes will be beyond 10 yards in the air. You cannot keep a good WR happy in this offense, let alone 2 of them.
We're trotting George Pickens and Van Jefferson out there 90% of the time. Little CAII and Scotty Miller sometimes too.

Oh and Roman Wilson. Twice.

I'd run the ball more than 35 times.

....and no, I don't miss Diontae Johnson. He sucked. Get the kid (and or Russell Wilson) some help.

Adams could be had for a 3rd or lower now, very possibly.
You act like they run the ball a lot because their WRs suck. Their WR depth chart sucks because they never intended to use them anyway. Tomlin desires a mobile QB because he wants more ways to run and less to pass. When they pass, it’s short and safe. He lives in his fears.

Raiders are a bottom feeder.

I’ve got a beer buzz and I’m going to see a kick ass show later so I am happy.

But we are still very suspect

Obviously the offense is conservative because of Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith.

......and also because we don't have the 2 beast WR's Arthur Smith had in Tennessee.

Fields, like Pickett before him, is being taught to take the safe play. Do not turn the ball over.

...but it's also because Fields has 1 WR capable of separating and that guy is tiny. Fields has hit CAIII with some big passes this year.

You run Davante Adams out there with Pickens, CAIII and hopefully Roman Wilson someday and you might have something.

Jerricho Cotchery ran like Tyreek Hill compared to Van Jefferson.

Van Jefferson plays more than Pickens by design because he’s an extra blocker. Tyreek Hill would be a part time player in this offense.

Then why go to Russell Wilson if you aren't going to put actual targets on the field for your QB?

If Van Jefferson is an extra blocker then Fields is an extra RB who can throw once in awhile.

Perfect.

I think that's a good description of the 1930s offense Tomlin and Smith want to run.

Think about how absurd this is. Why not just put a 4th TE out there or better... a backup tackle as TE to block on the perimeter and line up as a WR? Nothing is dumber than telegraphing your play so blatantly with your lineup like this.

Even more aggravating is Pickens, lack of effort and all, is still ranked much higher than Jefferson by PFF for blocking. So if it's really about your most effective blocker...

This team really doesn't have a passing game. It's got a little baby one that they are afraid to use.

No WR worth anything would want to play with these goofballs.

You guys see Maxx Crosby shove his assistant coach Mike Caldwell?

https://x.com/BrandonPerna/status/18456 ... ut%3Ablank

If any Steeler did this, I would want him suspended for the rest of the season without pay.

No exceptions.

I like Maxx Crosby a lot. I think he's a TJ Watt level disruptor.
This is a truly shitty look for him, and an even shittier look for the coaching staff.

These guys are football players, and that guy is a maniac.

It's expected. Worse shit happens all the time.

If he clocked him, it would be something. The slo-mo also added to the drama of it.

Crosby made no game changing plays during that loss. I get giving a shove like that to a teammate after celebrating a big play.

Doing that to a coach? Um…that’s just bizarre and there’s zero doubt it came out of frustration and not a little shout out to “his guy.”

Give credit to Danny Smith group great punt block. Moon showed that ST ability not sure how he played OLB. Watt played a good game two TO. Jackson played well as well as Elliot. Hopefully Fraizer not hurt LT. Harris showed why today he a #1 pick

Throwing it short of the sticks on 3rd down: Was it 4 or 5 times today that a drive ended with us throwing short of the sticks? We got a long field goal out of 1 of those plays.

VJ does everything average....including blocking. His significant usage is fucking moronic

Not according to STD.

Watt is the greatest Steelers defensive player along with Joe Greene in the team's history.
Yeah I've got Lambert, Blount, Polamalu and Woodson ahead of Watt but he's definitely Top 10 for sure.

In theory it could, we just got a new strength and conditioning person this year. He is the one that had the QBs driving blocking sleds the night before camp.
