You don't have the Steelers taking a WR until the 7th round.
Right now our single biggest issue is a #2 WR to take the heat off Pickens. The Steelers WILL take a WR with one of their first 2 picks next April.
Also, we just paid Patrick Queen big money and Payton Wilson is going to start in PIttsburgh for a long time to come. They're also very happy with Elandon Roberts. Why would you take an ILB in the first round?

Frankly I am surprised STD doesn't waste the first pick on a replacement for Low Watt, who has clearly been the problem child on this team for years.

Not 1 damn TE outlier in the draft.
This is a fail
This is a fail
STD might be Arthur Smith. Seriously.
Absolutely no interest in more weapons for Fields but 2 fucking RB's.
Jesus.

- Pickens has just one year left in Pittsburgh. I think CA3 is going to continue to show this year why he belongs on the field full time. He also has one year left and will be playing for a contract elsewhere. I doubt any WR the Steelers will consider in this class will come in and get significant time over Pickens CA3 or Roman Wilson for that matter
- Additionally the Steelers genuinely do not want to throw the ball. They’d be happy to run the ball 70% of the time and never throw the ball more than 15 yards.
- Colzie is the perfect Steelers type WR. Is he gonna go high in the draft. Nope. He might go UDFA but truthfully but he’s got everything the Steelers look for in a WR in addition to game breaking potential. He’s a great pick in the 7th for a team that would probably be much better off waiting for a better WR class to grab an early round WR
- Patrick Queen is not an effective off ball ILB in the Steelers D. MAYBE he could move to the thumper role but I kinda doubt it AND that would put Roberts (our only decent ILB) on the bench
- I haven’t been overly impressed with Payton Wilson so far and I kinda doubt the Steelers ever get 5 starts in a row out of him. Imo he’s a STer who might be able to offer some decent limited ILB snaps as an occasional short term backup
- The Steelers need to roll AT LEAST 2 deep with starter quality ILB talent at both positions. The defense falls apart without top quality at those spots for numerous reasons
- I’ve liked the last few drafts on draft day. The fact remains this team has ALOT of holes and question marks in the here and now. If they start reaching in this draft and don’t do a great job grabbing Steeler fits in the late rounds we are gonna look back at this time as a bellwether. Great teams do well drafting even in weak drafts. Many here don’t seem to understand you can’t always merely rank your top needs and draft effectively lining them up round by round. In fact most astute students of the game know all too well that often doesn’t work out well.
- I’m a believer in some of the young guys on this team. Can’t reach on draft day. Particularly not in this draft

You need to calm the fuck down and think
Do you think the Steelers really wanna start throwing the ball alot ?
Do the Steelers want to run far more often than they throw ?
If the Steelers could get away with it would they run the ball 70% of the time ?
Wouldn’t help Fields to have a deep and very capable RB unit ?
Are the Steelers really gonna let a rookie WR get snaps over Pickens Austin or Wilson ??
Which WRs in this draft look like Steelers to you ??
Wouldn’t having a defense that could finally hold the top teams to 24-ish help Fields as well ?

If they want a big receiver, Ole Miss wideout Tre Harris is 6'3", 210 lbs and runs a 4.40.
If they are looking for a Xavier Worthy looking speedster to compliment Pickens and they very well might be, then Texas blazer Isaiah Bond is 5' 11", 180 lbs and runs a fucking 4.28.
Look at what Xavier Worthy is already doing in KC. You line Bond up opposite Pickens and Jesus Christ. You could have Bond, PIckens, Roman Wilson and CAIII on the field at the same time.
Good luck stopping that, defenses.
I also love Luther Burden, Tai Felton and Evan Stewart (motherfucker is 6'0" 175 and runs a 4.33!!!)
There are PLENTY of WR's that could start IMMEDIATELY who will be available when the Steelers pick in the first round and don't be surprised if they take one.
The latest they will take a WR next April will be the second round. Zero doubt about it unless Roman Wilson gets on the field later this year and plays like the next Hines Ward.
They need a running mate for Pickens.

How is it that a rookie WR can step in DAY 1,
In an offense that is 10x more complicated,
With probably 75-100 different routes, variations, motion, etc than the PS offense........
And contribute,
Average 40 snaps per game, etc....
And Worthy is not the exception in todays NFL.
But Roman Wilson can't see field time over Van Jefferson.
Where he has to learn caveman concepts and routes.

Just googled Rookie WRs ....
https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/ranking ... ies-wr.php
Malik Nabers
Brian Thomas Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Ladd McConkey
Rome Odunze
Xavier Worthy
Keon Coleman
Adonai Mitchell
Pearsall - IR - shot?
Xavier Legette
Troy Franklin
Jayln Polk
Roman Wilson
All these guys are playing, most have put up numbers.
A handful are excelling
Except for the guy that got shot and Roman Wilson
12
Twelve drafted rookie WRS have at least 7 catches thru 4 games..............
The Steelers have one WR with more than 7
Van Jeff has 5 catches in 4 games.
9
Nine of those rookie WRs have totaled over 100 yards in the first 4 games
VJ has 36 yards in 4 games. - 14 rookie WRS have more yards than Van Jefferson
VJ has 36 yards in 4 games. That's hard to comprehend.
Someone has to fact check me on this.

CAIII is a good player, but he's more of a WR3.
Roman Wilson will either be the answer at WR2, or the Steelers will invest a very, very high pick in a WR.
You need to remember, Arthur Smith had Derrick Henry in his prime in Tennessee. That's why they were obviously a run heavy offense.
Unless I'm high, Smith had at WR for Ryan Tannehill, AJ Brown, Julio Jones and later Deandre Hopkins.
We do not have Derrick Henry in his prime in Pittsburgh. We have a very disappointing Najee Harris who is likely finishing out his tenure as a Steeler.
Arthur Smith would likely be the first person to tell you the WR room needs to be upgraded.....and there is no doubt that will happen this April.

Colzie has everything they look for except a ton of experience BUT he’s gonna be available in the 7th

For those worried about WR I could live with this draft trading Wilson for a 3rd and 7th. Gives you 3 big fast targets with good hands
1 Barrett Carter ILB Clemson
2 Tyleik Williams DE OSU
3 Aireontae Ersery OL Alabama
3 Smael Mondon Jr ILB Georgia
5 Bryce Foster OL Kansas
5 Kaytron Allen RB PSU
6 Demonte Capehart DE Clemson
6 Damian Martinez RB Miami
7 Bru McCoy WR Tennessee
7 Trace Ford OLB
7 Maliq Carr TE Houston (Outlier 2.0)
7 Deion Colzie WR Notre Dame

A fourth (and a backup) would be a steal for Wilson…you crazy bastards.
It would more importantly replace the fourth round pick we’re losing for Fields.

Miami's desperate. Like really fucking desperate.
McDaniel's job is in danger. Fans blame him for what is going on (I think Miami fans are dumber than shit. Some of them are good friends of mine but living amongst them is hilarious.)
The lowest pick I would take for Wilson is a 3 and that I would think hard about before doing it. I think the Steelers could fleece them for a 2.
Russ is a good player and a valuable backup at the most important position on the field and he still could be a quality starter.
In Miami's offense, with those weapons, he might be able to become a star again.
I would probably tell them to fuck off if they offered less than a 2 but would think long and hard about a 3.

McDaniel looked like someone ripped his soul out ...or at least his moxi. He looked defeated in the halftime interview.
Russ, with those weapons could get that team back on track. They could let Tua sit awhile or play it safe till December.
A 2nd would be great.
A 3rd is bare minimum.
How nice would an extra 2nd be as a chip to move up in the 1st.
Miami, at 1-3....could see there 2nd round pick landing in the 35-40 range.

Great draft by position but at some point we're going to have to try and develop a mid round QB behind Fields.
Wilson will not be back.
