We're going to end up stuck with Smith or Bevell.

I might be able to live with Bevell

Smith is a nightmare scenario

He’s desperate for a job tho and therefore cheap

I’m sure he’s the guy Rooney wants

I still think they are waiting for Kubiak(49'er)

I wouldn't be surprised if Randle El gets an interview soon.

Not sure if he can call plays but at least I liked him as a player. That's something anyway...
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Loved his energy and versatility.
Remembering him with a great attitude and personality.
I would imagine he is very relatable to players

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2019–2020)
Offensive assistant

Detroit Lions (2021–present)
Wide receivers coach.
Bad time of the year for his WRs to get the dropsies....

Brutal!

It looked like as the momentum started to shift Detroit couldn’t handle the pressure. Costly penalties, drops, led to enough of a mini meltdown and let it slip away.

Count me in the group of Detroit fucking up and should have taken the FG’s instead of going for it on 4th down.

It wouldn't be a bad hire. He could probably help our retarded head coach in other areas as well.

Jeezus. It's gonna be Smith, isn't it?

Yeah, I have a sinking feeling it is. We may lose Drama for a couple seasons if true, too. Hopefully he'll at least stick around on the Draft Board and for the board mocks...

Smith has experience coaching bad QBs and big bruising backs. Steelers are committed to rolling out bad QBs and big bruising backs. Seems like a perfect fit.

Did you know that his dad founded FedEx? Maybe he can bring a discount on overnight shipping with him for all the slides that are needed for the slide projectors in the FO.

Unless they have their eye on someone with the 9ers or KC, the retread option looks like the pick. I trust the Steelers to fuck this hire up. From the same team who brought you Rust Bekt Randy and Matt "not affiliated with actual country" Canada!

For comparison, the Patriots have interviewed:
Shane Waldron
Klint Kubiak (49ers)
Brian Fleury (49ers)
Thomas Brown
Tanner Engstrand (Lions)
Luke Getsy
Zac Robinson
Dan Pitcher
Jerrod Johnson
Nick Caley
Scott Turner

I’m holding on to the idea that the Steelers are waiting on the two Super Bowl teams

However it’s nerve wracking that they seemed to have stopping at Smith

as above, the relevant people on the 49ers have already been interviewing with the teams in consideration. We are simply not on the list. We interviewed two of the bottom tier Patriots candidates (i would rank Johnson and Jones 8th and 11th out of the 11 candidates they interviewed) and Smith, who couldn’t get an interview with anyone else.
