Yikes. ILB is basically nothing at this point. Time to start scouring practice squads and the waiver wire.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

What I find hilarious is what social media would have been like during Bradshaw's first several years at QB. No, I'm not saying Pickett is going to be Bradshaw (Kenny played pretty badly overall today, but the offense calls for so many sideways and short passes and is just so conservative, I think it would be a horrible offense for any QB to try and run. Ben definitely didn't like playing under Canada) but Bradshaw was often ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I mean, running on plays and fumbling without being touched horrible. Bradshaw was also an INT machine.
Folks here would have crucified Brad.
I doubt Kenny is the long term answer because he's not playing well enough early in games, but I'm definitely not giving up on him. I'd just love to see him with a real play caller. That'd be nice.

Give the officials an assist.
They absolutely bungled the non-call of the lateral that should have been a Steelers fumble deep in their own territory.
No question that ball went backwards.

Maybe Diontae paid the officials off today? Or maybe only bad calls that go against the Steelers show that officials are paid off?

Yeah, I felt the same way watching the game at a Buff WW today. I really thought that once the run game got on track, his overall game would improve. Today's game definitely didn't show any improvements for KP8, plus for the first time in about four games, it felt like he was bailing on the pockets again. Need to review the replay, but it looked like another bad day. Not ready to bail on him yet either, however things need to start trending up, even with the wins.
All that said, was still a great game to watch, with the win, and everything else in the division falling into place. There's a reasonable shot at being undefeated in, and on top of, the Norf by the end of next week's games.

It looked to me like the pass was lateral, not backwards, but since it was such bad placement, causing Warren (who was slightly upfield from Pickett) to reach back, it looked like it was thrown backwards.
Even if it is lateral, I believe it is A lateral and therefore should have been a fumble.

It looked like it went forward initially but then curved as if the wind blew it backwards. Regardless the should not have stopped the play but you don't compound a wrong call by making another wrong call.

Guess I'm sick in the head, too. I love watching this fuckin' team...6-0 in one score games, 2-0 in Dafuq games, last two games both end with interceptions in the end zone. I'm happy AF tonight.tbsteel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 9:20 pmAnyone that enjoys watching this is sick in the head. It's gonna to be like somewhat of a release watching us lose the next two games @Cleveland and @Cincy by a combined 30+ points.
My wife will even tell you I predicted this when we still had the ball.
I said "Green Bay will get it back with maybe a minute or so left, and then they will get as far as between our 30 and 25, and then we will see".
They got to the 16.
Because this is how it has to happen.

Nah, I'm not live or die with it like a lot on here. I can watch us winning by 30 or losing by 30 and feel basically the same. When the Steelers play bad anymore, which is often, I'm just mildly annoyed and then it passes quick. I genuinely feel bad for the folks whose whole week is determined whether the Steelers win or lose.

It’s worse than that because I genuinely feel bad for the folks whose whole week is determined by how many yards were gained, not by whether the Steelers win or lose.tbsteel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 11:37 pmNah, I'm not live or die with it like a lot on here. I think what we actually want (as should you) is a team that can once again be competitive in the playoffs.13 year old fans don't want competitive.
It’s been a while ya know.
Nice win today and very nice to see the oline actually open some holes for a change.
All of that rushing did little to ignite the passing game though which just adds to the ??? about KP.
If we do make the playoffs pray for snow. Lots and lots of snow.
Mitch’s last year in college was great. He also had a decent year or two for the bears. I think he’s been eating off of the promise he showed back then.Kodiak. wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 8:43 pmRudolph has at least as bad of pocket awareness, and NO mobility.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 8:42 pmMason Rudolph could 100 percent do what Kenny is being asked to do out there.
There is nothing difficult about this.
Kenny may not be starter-caliber, but he's still better than the other 2. No idea why they brought Mitch back and paid him all that money.

Neal was hurt on the interception. Didn’t seem serious, but it was at the end of the game and he went to the blue tent.

Pickett was bad today missed throws and locked onto one receiver too much. Nothing in the middle of the filled

I just wanted to throw in my two cents. Mainly, fuck Najee Harris. Team could have sealed the win if he didn't once again run like a pussy when it mattered most. He's convinced he's some super athlete at the RB position the way he runs when he's basically a slightly more athletic Trent Richardson.
Put your shoulder down and run north-south. Stop hurdling because it has never amounted to shit. Stop dancing. You added 15 pounds after college to run like you're scared of contact...

So I don’t know if Sam Howell will ever been a top tier QB but through 9 weeks he currently leads the league in passing yards.
Our guy threw for 126, 160 and 73 in his last three starts. All at home.
Tells me that 1) Pickett isn’t an NFL caliber starting QB and 2) props to Washington getting Bienemy, who has turned that offense into something pretty good.
We should have made a run at Bienemy this offseason after SHITCANNING Canada, but nope.

Mike Tomlin would never have hired Bieniemy, race be damned because the real reason he hired Canada is because he was a guy nearly out of coaching who would be a complete yes man. Just like he promoted Fitchner. He wants an offensive coordinator who will run what he wants them to run.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 5:11 amSo I don’t know if Sam Howell will ever been a top tier QB but through 9 weeks he currently leads the league in passing yards.

This offense is as risk averse, as you will ever see in the NFL.
The passing game completely, ignores between the numbers throws, which is severely sabotaging PA and offensive cohesion.
Teflon Mike thinks he can safely pass the ball, make it an extension of the run game, and convert third downs.
Actually, Tomlin’s perspective is moronic and makes things far more difficult on the offense, by continually throwing outside the numbers and living off of check downs.
I don’t care if they’re winning regular season games vs bottom tier opponents. These wins are not sustainable and when it begins to fail them, the losses will come in multiples.
