I've been smoking weed all day.

Didn't think my day could get better but it just did!

Speaking of weed, some of these draft picks the last few years would make you think Colbert and Tomlin were high as fuck in the war room. Kendrick Green shouldn’t have been on an NFL roster let alone be the guy snapping our HoF quarterback the damn football.

They somehow treated the o-line as an afterthought and it showed. Looks like Omar has a different plan.

We drafted Ziggy Hood, who never fit what we do. He had a serviceable career after moving on. I think Green will do the same. I won't miss him, but it is not his fault that Colbert and Tomlin misjudged him so badly.

How did we get a 6th for Green? The Texans front office must have been smoking weed too. This is highway robbery!!

Do Khan and Weidl cast spells on other GMs to make these moves? It's crazy. Anyone watching Green this summer wouldn't have traded us a bag of Doritos for him.

Just because I think when this board... or any board... evaluates players coming from other teams... there is always probably going to be a stark contrast to how that fan base saw that player.. this is a comment from a random Houston message board..

"All we gave up was a 6th rounder who started 15 games as a rookie center for the Steelers?
Yes!! Great trade!"

Let me know what Texans fans are saying about Green by like week 8 or so.

Gonna be real, real different.

I think Green will do much better in a strictly zone-blocking system.
If you want him in a phone booth, he's gonna get trampled all damn game.

Getting a Gatorade cooler for him would have sufficed. A sixth rounder makes Omar look like Paul freaking Brown.

I expected to be straight cut so grabbing anything in return is a a bonus.

Green has excellent athleticism but the technical skillset of a frozen corpse.

#Texans rookie center Juice Scruggs is dealing with a strained hamstring and second-year guard Kenyon Green has a shoulder injury and other issues, per league sources. Plus, Scott Quessenberry is on IR with a torn ACL and MCL.
@KPRC2

They got injuries and need a warm body with some "experience"... in what I don't know.

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

LOL, were they unsure if they'd have an R7 in 2025? How about a 2030 R3 instead? What's the draft value charts say?

No great point. I was so baked I completely forgot Weidl was in Pittsburgh.

That dude has the right idea. Just keep drafting linemen, even when you're strong at that position.

FWIW, I still don't think it was a matter of the Steelers/Colbert/Tomlin treating the O-Line as an "afterthought" as much as it was they kept fucking up their picks on Defense (Jones, Shazier*, Dupree to an extent, Burns, Bush) and were forced to hang onto Decastro and Pouncey until well after their expiration date.

Texans I think lost the PSU kid that was suppose to start at C for they year and I think they lost another IOL in camp so they just need bodies for practice as well as games. Looks like the Steelers were able to leverage that into some late draft capital.

Maybe he will be serviceable like the short armed C they drafted late some years back.
Finally retired: 31DEC25

He finally quit: 13JAN26

Dude, until this year, the Steelers hadn't drafted a first round offensive tackle since 1996, I believe it was.

Or sometime in the 90's (I'm still under the throws of the Frosted Motobreath I smoked).

Offensive tackle is arguably the most important position on offense after QB and the Steelers waited 27 years to draft another offensive tackle in the first round?

I do not think it was a coincidence that Weidl and Khan changed the direction of this team. Philly's team stacked linemen like nobody else and that formula looks to be working out pretty good for them.

A pathetic draft selection

Borderline complete dereliction of duty by Colbert and Co

Hated the pick when it happened, stoked that fucker is gone

Horrible center…who the fuck drafts a center, to hike the ball to a future HOF QB in his last season, that hardly played the fucking position in college?

Just happy and relieved that POS is gone

Did Colbert not like Ben? <puts tin foil hat on>

If there was ever proof that Omar Khan has hit it out of the park in his rookie GM season, look no further than this trade.
