Post Browns Mock
18 Noah Sewell ILB Oregon
A tough downhill ILB with a thick build and good measureables. The Steelers have ZERO starter quality at ILB. Robinson looked horrible in the Browns game. This guy would be a good start.
32 Siaki Ika NT Baylor
Ika would solve a lot of problems for the Steeler D. It’s possible he could fall to 32
49 Darnell Washington TE UGA
Another guy I could see getting drafted much earlier but if he falls here he’s a must draft. This team and this QB are among the worst in the league in the red zone and points scored. Washington would an ideal add to help remedy that as well as excell at other facets of the offense. Probably the best red zone player in this draft for the Steelers and Pickett. I wouldn’t be opposed to bundling a 2024 pick here to move up and get this guy
81 Steve Avila C/G TCU
Perfect Steeler OL. Perfect build for what the Steelers wanna do
4th Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami
Big strong fast CB. Aggressive and attitudenal
7th Jalen Rivers OT Miami
7th Roschon Johnson RB Texas

Move that pick to 17 and not 18

Other than Ika.....gross
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.
Several things I'd rather do with pick 18, or 17, or whatever.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Taking Sewell in the 1st would be criminal. Two down LBs in a passing league go in the 3rd or later.
Went back to school.7a.QB Grayson McCall Coastal Carolina

Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia has Tomlin written all over it.
A round or two too early of course -- so 1st, 2nd or early 3rd.

Thought I'd seen him hit the portal last week.

Grayson McCall withdraws from transfer portal: Coastal Carolina QB had drawn interest from SEC schools.
McCall has 8,086 yards passing and 78 touchdowns passes in his four-year career

Would have been interesting to see what he could do playing against the big boys. He's been a fun watch the games I've gotten to see at Coastal.

I did not watch alot of college football this year,
But the highlight tape of
Noah Sewell, does not come off as a quick, sudden player

Hmmm ??? Why haven’t the Steeler been able to find one for several years running now ?? With many attempts in both FA and the draft ??
Sewell is a tone setter and the combination of his sturdy build and measureables is rare
The Steelers can’t stop the run for several years now. That is job one. That doesn’t happen forget everything else

The big issues he had was he had offseason throwing shoulder surgery before this season and only really started to look himself throwing it late in the year. Probably wanted to put a good year on tape before coming out. Has an outside shot to be QB3-5 next year.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 3:44 pmWould have been interesting to see what he could do playing against the big boys. 2 down LBs are taken in the 3+ round. You can keep saying how amazing he is but he is a north-to-south thumper that has issues moving laterally. If you want to use him as a EDGE or blitzer I would still not touch him until the 3rd round.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 4:07 pmHmmm ??? I like McCall. Has the arm strength to make the throws and is accurate. Costal Carolina offense does him no service. 99% short throws. He is like Zappe with a much better arm.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 4:11 pmThe big issues he had was he had offseason throwing shoulder surgery before this season and only really started to look himself throwing it late in the year. I would say his upside is Herbert-like. Just hard to say if he’s going to come out ready enough to do all that in the NFL. Going to be very surrounding situation dependent, but I guess most QBs are.jebrick wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 5:38 pmI like McCall. Has the arm strength to make the throws and is accurate. I saw some of Sewell thing year and he looked okay. Not sure that he's special. Reading that he isn't a good coverage linebacker worries me. Don't know how you take a guy at #17 that can't do it all.jebrick wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 5:36 pm2 down LBs are taken in the 3+ round. #17 overall, unless he's a QB, needs to be a plug and play guy. Not sure Sewell is.

Much as we talk about all the holes in this roster, i vote BPA straight up.
We need to add playmakers, not plug holes with JAGs. We actually have cap space for hole plugging.
