Health and Surprise Playoff Ballers
Besides JuJu, Tuitt and Alualu injury, this has to be one of the healthiest weeks heading into the playoffs since pre-Bell.
We will have our full contingent of players that have been with us the whole season mainly. Harris with an elbow, Maulet concussion, Moore ankle. Harris’ elbow didn’t seem to be impacting him in the second half, Spillane a knee bruise and that is it I believe.
I believe we can be full speed out of the gates on Sunday!
Surprise Playoff Ballers?
(Harris will play well, no surprise though)
Bush could be. If he ever loved contact in his football past, and he embraced it this game, I could see him getting a game ball. That is all he has to do. Fly and Crush…go Troy P mode!
I can see Claypool being exceptional in the playoffs. Something about his intensity and his disregard for his body.
Gentry…former QB…ball skills.
Witherspoon…coming into form…hasn’t started in the playoffs. Has Super Bowl experience.
Harvin snaps out of funk!

Bush is a prancing fairy and I expect we will be cursing his name Sunday night.
Since he absolutely has zero intent in trying to stop the run maybe he will surprise and make a play in the passing game.
Not holding my breath.

What on earth happened to Dotson?
What was his injury designation?
Deep bruise to to the doghouse muscle?
Looks like he is on IR?

It is so perplexing.
There are some plays where he has two choices........
A. run and fill a huge hole
B. run into the back of a pile of DL and OL.
I could have sword he chose B on a play that resulted in one of those long runs.....and me and the boys were like..."what the hell did he just do"
Is he avoiding contact?
Do they not see this on film?
Is it not being corrected?

Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
Oh they see it. How can they not?
Jibbs is BBQ buddies though with that fairy’s uncle so he continues to get a hat.
Hard to shoot the shit with your buddy while having to explain while you benched his son.
So Bush continues to infect and plague this D.
Just an awful draft pick. Especially considering what they gave up for him.
Can’t imagine other defenders not calling him out
Minka? Like WTF bro? Why am I having to do my job AND yours?
Cam? That isn’t how we do this here son…

If he is healthy would he be eligible to play Sunday or next week at Tennessee? This could be a game changer.RemoAZ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:24 pmSpeaking of health

Did anyone key in on Haeg last game? Did he make a case for starting over Moore?
(Also, please please please no to Harvin.)

Moore was a full practice participant Wednesday. Barring a setback, he’ll be back in the lineup Sunday night.pickarooney wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:40 pmDid anyone key in on Haeg last game? Did he make a case for starting over Moore?

I'm fine with his return as long as it doesn't remove Muth from his targets. Muth is honestly the only guy on offense I trust not to do something stupidRemoAZ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:24 pmSpeaking of health

I would like to think there is enough room or play scheming for both. Muth is truly an asset that Ben needs.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:58 pmI'm fine with his return as long as it doesn't remove Muth from his targets. I seriously doubt that we see JuJu play this week. Now if they manage to get past KC…

If JJSS can move McCloud to the bench that would be a huge upgrade by itself.

On the contrary, I think JuJu helps Friermuth a ton.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:58 pmI'm fine with his return as long as it doesn't remove Muth from his targets. Muth is honestly the only guy on offense I trust not to do something stupidRemoAZ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:24 pmSpeaking of health

wow.
JuJu
Tomlin did talk about changes..
Maybe there was a hint there.
Dionte, JuJu, Chase, Mooth and Harris.
Subbing in and out Gentry, Washington and Raymond.
JuJu is clutch.
Catches the ball,
Nose for first downs,
Very good repoire with Ben.
Could be the difference maker.

First couple of games before his injury, JJSS looked like he was a glorified TE- they asked him to do a bunch of blocking and his routes were usually quick/intermediary.

I love JJSS but if y’all think we are a Smith-Shuster away from becoming and offensive juggernaut…come on dudes.
It starts with offensive coaching, planning and scheme, three things that were noticeably absent almost the entire season. We need a philosophy change way more than a somewhat slow footed slot receiver like JJSS.
I do love JJSS and will be wearing my Littsburgh sweatshirt for the game this Sunday.

I don't think for a second JuJu is playing this year. My heart says "GO STEELERS!" but my head says they are unlikely to get past the chiefs. My guess is that it'll be competitive but the chiefs will finish with the win.

#Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, who practiced today following shoulder surgery that landed him on IR, does have a chance to play this weekend. It’ll depend on how he does in practice, but coach Mike Tomlin called it a start.
Maybe its good JuJu doesn't play. He seems to have a knack for fumbling at the wrong time. If he plays and fumbles the game away that would be awful especially since Ray Ray has been pretty good with the ball all season. Not to mention the fact Ray Ray has kind of earned the start in my mind.
I don't think they will get past the Chiefs either but you never know. I didn't think they would make the playoffs. The team is a little bit more healthy than it was against the Chiefs the first time around. I definitely believe the Steelers have the talent to do it. It will be about scheme and execution. In other words, we're doomed! But...like I said...you never know!

JuJu, RayRay, and Muth all require attention in the middle of the field. The more the merrier.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 7:26 pmHow's that?

It’d be awesome to have JuJu for this game. He’s one of the most physical receivers in the game today.
Plus if he’s practicing now, it represents a desire to contribute to the team. That’s better than sitting things out to protect himself from further injury.
I’d enjoy seeing him out there if he can get cleared. Let him earn his money.

We throw to the middle of the field, just within 2-6 yards of the LOS. JJSS can be a seam buster; well he and maybe he opens up Muth to be a seam buster the kind of seam busting that #87 in red does.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 8:48 pmLargely because we don't have JuJu.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 8:28 pmExcept we don't throw in the middle of the field.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 7:54 pm

If you haven’t noticed, seam busting is a good thing. Gotta bust the seams to move the ball downfield.

I don't know shit about what his injury was, but It's been three months since his surgery. Will JuJu be as physical as he was pre-injury? Can he take a hit in the middle of the field? Will the chiefs target his shoulder if he plays?

I think he broke his shoulder, which sounds gnarly.
I think Guentzel had a similar injury and took him at least 6 months.
