Klemm leaving merged thread
There talk that Oregon and their New Head man Wants Klemm to join his staff. Really hope this happens and the Steelers instead of just promoting they go out and spend money on hiring the Best Coach for the Ol.

They must be buddies, or the new head man at Oregon must be a dipshit.
My early Christmas gift will be late this year, as we play the day after the holiday time!
For Christmas, I'd like the game to NOT be moved, and I'd LOVE a Steelers victory! With an upset W, our path to the post-season would truly be in our hands. Let's GO!!

Always thought that Munchak would be a perfect hire with him focusing his input on the run game and pass blocking. See if Ben would stick around for one more year. Add in a really good young OC mind and a Josh Boyer or Todd Bowles for DC. Let KC work his magic for another few years and bam you're a major contender again.

Munchak was an abortion of a head coach in Tennessee, no thanks. I’d much rather have a young offensive minded coach that can develop our new QB.

While Chak would be a step in the right direction why would he want to jump into an organizational mess that is the Pittsburgh Steelers?
If Klemm leaves that is a positive.
Look around the league, lots of teams are having issues with their OL's but a good number of them are patching the OL up and getting decent play out of such. Green Bay for instance.
That is due to coaching to a good degree, something that is lacking BIG time with our OL coaches.

In a Pac-12 where recruiting is now going to be far from the given it has been for Oregon, Klemm's background of mistreating players at the NCAA level isn't exactly a selling point, but hey, if they want to take him off our hands, more power to em.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Reading it’s official.
We hardly knew him.
Look forward to his assistant getting promoted bc of course that’s what’s going to happen.

All I want for Christmas is for there to be some Grudeneske emails that Tomlin wrote released.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
We need to bring Todd Haley back as head coach. I'm not trolling here. I'm dead ass serious.
I really think he helped Ben's career but he's a little nutzo. Not sure that's the guy you want leading your team.

If we bring anybody back it should be Mark Whipple but he's going to coach Nebraska.
Nah, the assistant to Klemm is who, Chris Morgan? He spent most of his career with Atlanta but between him and Klemm what did they do this year? The O-line never got better and if anything is playing worse as the season winds down. I also scratch my head at their decisions. I think Dotson was playing out of his natural position of RG, and I don't think Chuks performance was so dominant that Banner couldn't get a shot at RT. Turner has been so awful that one has to question why he has been starting.
True, you may say they did not have any options, but if the talent level among all the offensive linemen were about equal, to me you have to at least go with the starting 5 that aren't going to commit penalties, false starts and do things like lose their cool and spit in a players face. Turner was guilty of all of that and more and we keep trotting him out there.

OL coach Adrian Klemm is going to University of Oregon but he will finish the season first.

So who do you think would be a good fit to help rebuild the offensive line? Or is it way too soon to start looking for his replacement?

The parameters, implications of this is stunning. For example, he obviously sees no future with the players or organization. Who could see any value in him? Is he the scapegoat or the cause, or just a contributor to this colossal failure, etc?
Great news. Worst coaching hire since Tomlin.

So our OL “coach” is leaving the Steelers for the same position or similar for the Oregon Ducks?

It’s always possible he has been informed he’s going to be shit-canned.

Status quo. We will see some assistants gone. Klemm isn't a loss and is replacible. The line underachieved under his watch, and that underchievemnet was with the inexperienced players this year and the decrepit lineman the last couple years. The expectation was minimal and we were worse than expected.
He probably doesn't need informed. He coaches the worst and most visible weakness on the team and Tomlin will roll heads at seasons end.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 1:04 pmIt’s always possible he has been informed he’s going to be shit-canned.

But of course we are definitely winning one more game at least out of our final three, so the streak of non-losing seasons will continue.

Sad part is, Turner has been the best OL on the team overall, and I don't fault him for spitting in that dudes face, the dude spit in his first. I likely would have just kicked him in the nuts though.
Possible, but the Steelers usually don’t give up on coaches or players after just one season, although there could always be extenuating circumstances, I guess.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 1:04 pmIt’s always possible he has been informed he’s going to be shit-canned.
More likely, Oregon made him a better offer, financially. Or he has some type of history with the new head coach.
Regardless, not a good look for Tomlin or the Steelers.

We need the Bob’s to come in and interview all the Steelers coaches.
