The INCREDIBLE Hulk

Back when ESPN didn't broadcast every round of the draft, I remember listening to Myron Cope (RIP) back in the '89 draft pound the table over and over again for the Steelers to use one of their late round picks on Pitt-Johnstown Wrestling Champ, Carlton Haselrig (RIP).

Hell no I couldn't find the Rig's workout numbers on AI, but I'm guessing they were nowhere close to those posted for Nigerian DT Uar Bernard:

6’4 306
6% body fat
4.6 40
'39 vert
10’10 broad
31 reps…dude is literally the HULK!

So finally in round 12, Cope's constant pounding (whining) paid off, the Steelers' drafted a future ALL-Pro guard.

I don't know if this Nigerian fella can play a lick of football, but hell yeah I'd burn one of those 12 picks to find out.

P.S.

Kenya's got a guy too

I agree and Haselrig was one of my favorite players.

Neither of the players listed have ever played football before but the Steelers have 12 picks, roll the dice. I wish they could store them in a development league

Standout blocking for Bananas Foster in the early Cowher years. Was just thinking about those teams. Such a happy, hopeful time to be a Steeler fan.

This doesn't mean much, I'm sure. But I worked around 3 different Nigerian guys in my life. Landscape construction in my 20's, bartending in my 30's and a gent who worked with my daughter-in-law's company. They were all, without exception, terrific workers and great employees with a work ethic I tried to live up to as well! Maybe another Nigerian nightmare in going to be an Oline guy for the Steelers..lol

But can they do a standing jump out of a pool?
