Here is the report

NO WATT!!

Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt is “currently in a local hospital for further medical evaluation of his lung after experiencing discomfort at the practice facility on Wednesday.”

This news comes directly from the team. Steelers spokesman Burt Lauden added that Watt will not practice on Thursday and his status for Monday’s game is in question. Head coach Mike Tomlin will provide more updates at the appropriate time. It’s a scary update for one of the best defenders in the league. The hope will be that this is a short-term issue, but it’s too early to say anything definitively. We don’t expect Watt to suit up versus the Dolphins on Monday.

Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt was sent to a local hospital after experiencing lung discomfort during Wednesday's practice, the team announced. Watt will not practice Thursday and his status for Week 15 is in question.

He was winded from all the jogging he did against the Ravens.

Too soon?

With all the jogging he does I expected better cardiovascular fitness

Joking aside, that sounds pretty serious. Hopefully resolves soon.

Punctured lung comes to mind, or air quality. Maybe he's getting asthma as he gets older. I did

In the yahoo article, it says he was injured while receiving treatment at the steelers facility.

Could an injection have gone wrong?

Were you there Greek? Do tell

They are saying lung issue, not his heart. I wonder if they were giving a pain shot, like stated, and the needle punctured lung.

maybe there is some pre-existing condition ? which might explain why he seems to try and take it easy at the end of plays?

Yea he might have had an oblique injury and they gave him the needle and fucked it up

Could be an IM injection that hit a vein and whatever he was injected with ended up in his lungs causing a pulmonary embolism.

Lots of coughing and shortness of breath. I would expect he will be ok in a day or two depending on whatever was injected and how it would react in his lungs

Watt has no heart so it has to be his lung. I’d guess it was a pain shot or cryotherapy gone wrong

Remember when AB spent too long in the cryo chamber and burned his feet while with the Raiders??

It's referenced in that Twitter thread, but team doc fucking up shots before has resulted in lawsuits. I'm obviously not laughing that this happened to Watt despite my earlier joke about jogging, but it would be oddly entertaining to see him sue the team for fucking this up.

Art II would have to countersue for him stealing paychecks this year.

It's a metaphor.

Tyrod Taylor got a punctured lung from a pain shot for broken ribs.

IF his lung was punctured, sports medicine contact says it would be season-ending. And if it's a lung puncture, the season is irrelevant-- just want him to recover 100%.

yes this would end his season.

Lindros had this occur hitting into the boards back in 1999; after the game - his roomie Keith Jones found him in the bathtub taking a hot dip tying to alleviate the pain. He ended up saving his life by getting him to the hospital fast. It looked totally innoculous at the time

I heard this is a cover-up for him being over at Schenley Park trolling for trannys and getting rolled.

Could be just a cheap rumor.

My AI contact says it depends:

11
Pneumothorax | healthdirect
Punctured lung (pneumothorax) recovery varies, but minor cases can heal in days to two weeks, while more severe injuries might take 4-8 weeks or longer, depending on treatment (observation, needle aspiration, chest tube, or surgery) and underlying health; expect to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for weeks, and flying for about 4 weeks, with doctor's clearance being key.

This type of injury is consistent with sucking too hard which Watt has all year.

The team is being even more vague than normal because they can pretty much already smell the lawsuit coming. NPLA is in contact with Watt.

Their statement is that he just started suffering discomfort at Wednesday while at the facility.

Reports are that it was during a treatment.

Same way Tomlin tiptoed around the subject, using the excuse he's not a medical doctor. Don't need to be a medial doctor to get basic facts like when it started and where it started.

It doesn't. According to another poster here, Watt doesn't show up for the playoffs.
