For those of you that can’t let this man go, watch this video.
Try watching it without emotion. Put your Pickett hate away. Pickett’s first game, his first 3 interceptions.

The man couldn’t catch a break.
1st Pass - should have been caught. Slightly under-thrown, but Claypool absolutely should have been able to high point the ball and catch it. Instead, he did his patented leap-for-no-reason, alligator arm attempt and instead of a nice gain over the deep middle, Pickett gets interception #1, and it goes to a guy 6 inches shorter than Claypool. Tomlin’s asshole puckers on the sidelines.
2nd Pass - Muth proves that indeed white men can’t jump, and the high pass that should have either been caught or sail harmlessly out of bounds is instead knocked back into the field of play, causing interception #2. Tomlin dilates.
3rd Pass - Pickett launches a 65+ yard Hail Mary Pass that is intercepted in the end zone. Interception #3 and the Steelers lose to the Jets. Tomlin panics and decides to return to the turtle. 3 interceptions in one game? Can’t have that!
That Hail Mary pass should end the bullshit that Pickett has a popgun arm. His arm strength is just fine. (Rodgers heaved a similar pass this season and the entire city sucked his dick for a week.)
This kid never had a chance.
He had a garbage HC
He had a garbage OC
He had a garbage offensive scheme.
He had a garbage offensive line.
His receivers were head cases.
His running back was a turd.
Let’s review the starting offense for the rookie QB, including years of experience!
LT - Dan Moore - 1 year - one of the worst LT’s in the NFL. Still kept 2023 1st round flounderer Broderick Jones from playing his natural position in 2023 because Moore couldn’t play anywhere
except LT. This is quality! (Gone after 2024)
LG - Kevin Dotson - 2 years - playing out of position (not his fault), but he wasn’t very good on the left side. Leaves the Steelers at the end of 2022 and becomes a star on the Rams.
C - Mason Cole - 4 years - one of the worst centers not named Kendrick Green. Cole sucked hard, especially on shotgun snaps. He was so good, once he left the Steelers in 2023, he was never resigned and is out of the NFL at 27. A great FA signing!
RG - James Daniels - 4 years - probably the best of this weak line, gone after 2023
RT - Chucks Okorafor - 4 years - 4 year starter in Pittsburgh, but got into Tomlin’s doghouse, was benched and hasn’t been a starter since he left in 2023, either in NE or with the Jets this season.
TE - Pat Freiermuth - 1 year - best known for being drafted instead of Creed Humphries. Well done! (He’s the only starter left from 2022... that’s pathetic). A massive underachiever, seems to be the offensive version of TJ Watt (overpaid, under delivers).
TE - Zack Gentry - 3 years - gone after 2022. Out of the NFL by 2023.
RB - Najee Harris - 1 year - ran like he was running in quicksand, wearing wet jeans, carrying a refrigerator on his back. He had the vision of Helen Keller. (A wasted 1st round pick, gone after 2024)
WR - Dionte Johnson - 3 years - loved to run backwards after catching the ball. Liked to dog it. Didn’t block. Pouted when the ball didn’t come his way. Became known as Dionte “Dropson”. gone after 2023 and now out of the NFL.
WR - George Pickens - Rookie - amazing talent, but a head case who became tired of running wind sprints up and down the sidelines. Half-assed it constantly, but never disciplined by Mediocre Mike. Forced his way out before 2025 season.
So there you have it. Of the 11 starters (including Pickett) in Pickett’s rookie year of 2022, only 1 remains. And these guys were all young. No old vets retiring from the league. That’s a terrible offense, assembled by a moron who hides behind aviators on Sundays. Many forced their way out, too. Surprising since everyone loves Coach T!
Kenny Pickett was drafted onto a bad team with bad personnel on offense, coached by the worst OC in the NFL. Matt Canada has also not landed another job since being fired, which indicates what the football world thinks of his brilliant offensive mind. He WAS smart enough to give Dino a football scholarship, though, which was his smartest football move.
He was not permitted to throw over the middle. His passes were restricted to the space between the sidelines and the numbers. Everyone knew this, and it made the defense’s job much easier.
The offense was predictable and often compared to a high school level attack.
If ANY college QB could have succeeded on the Steelers in 2022, I’d like to know who that would be. I’d also like to know who would have been there to develop him. But if anyone thinks that Jibbs would have put up with a rookie QB not doing what he was told, and throwing the ball down the middle or calling an audible at the line, you are out of your mind.
NO QB has consistently succeeded in Pittsburgh since Ben retired. Ben only succeeded because he was Ben, a HOF talent with over a decade of experience who was able to pull games out of his ass in the 4th quarter after going off script (until his arm gave out).
Pickett was a rookie. He didn’t have the experience or the gravitas to go off script.
Pickett might be ruined at this point. It’s very possible that he will not be able to salvage his career.
However I will be rooting for him. I would love to see him turn his career around. It will be another nail in Jibbs’ “coaching genius” coffin.
The Tomlin reign of incompetence must end. Once it does, the Tomlin years must be pulled apart and studied. This idiot needs to be exposed. If Pickett can get it together and become a decent starter, it will further solidify the case that Tomlin has absolutely no idea what the fuck he is doing and his entire career has been a fraud.
Let’s go Kenny!
