Haven’t heard anything about Trice yet.
Checking the injury report I did see that Harrison is back practicing.

Linebacker Malik Harrison also returned to practice on Monday, but remains on the Reserve/Injured, Designated for Return List

Is there a limit to how many years you can be on IR?
I’ll ask Joel Embiid
I think it was KC that warned back when he was drafted that he has never been able to stay healthy.
Nailed that one.
Can’t make the club from the tub.

to my awareness, he still hasn't been selected for activation.
He's eligible, as a player that was designated for short term IR, but they have to be selected within a 3 week period, to return to the active roster- or they revert to season long IR.
*I think that's how it works

I hope he gets back to active status this season and gets a chance to learn with all the experience in the back end currently. Lots of players that have been around real winning and getting things done. It has been a decade since we had any of that here. As good as Joe Haden was Pittsburgh was the pinnacle of his career post college. Ramsey, Slay, Elliott, & Peppers have all seen post season success.
I think i heard he has had no set backs and is on schedule. As for the exact detail I have not heard.

I think if James Pierre had been injured or was playing poorly, you might see Trice activated- but since that hasn’t happened he’s stuck on IR
The injury to Kilebrew doesn’t help his cause
I don’t think the team believes Trice is durable enough to play special teams
So again, he’s stuck
I’d imagine this is Trice’s last season on the roster, unless some freak injury happens this week and he’s called up. (This week being - what I think- is the last week he’s eligible to be activated before reverting to season long IR)

"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

Best ability is availability….cut their losses with Trice and finally move on.

Tomlin is like a hoarder when it comes to mediocre football talent. He has so much useless junk on the roster he can't find what he needs when necessary. And sometimes it seems he even forgets who is there .He'll find somewhere to stash Trice "just in case".Steelafan77 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 2:44 amBest ability is availability….cut their losses with Trice and finally move on.
Thinking on it, this idea also goes along with Tomlins Goodwill Store style player acquisitions.

At least Trice was a 7th rounder and played in a few regular season games. Senquez was a 2nd rounder who never even made it to a preseason game. I don't think he made it through a full week of practice! Pretty shocking in retrospect. Senquez is one of the biggest Steelers busts of the past 25 years.
Shame about Trice for the little time he was healthy he looked good.
But at this point they should move on.
