Door slammers Vikings Game
1. Kenneth Gainwell. Showed the best visions we’ve seen as a Steelers RB since Leveon Bell and carried the offense
2. Payton Wilson. Didn’t just rebound from a shitty start to the season, but led the team in tackles and possibly saved the win with that last game tackle inside the 5
3. Nick Herbig. Steelers most effective pass rusher got in on a couple of sacks and a ton of pressures
4. DK Metcalf. Carried the offense early in the game.
Finally had a signature performance
5. Keanu Benton. Another rebound from shitty season guy. In on a couple sacks and pressures.
6 DeShon Elliot. Had a couple pass breakups and qb hits

Agree with all. Pierre did a great job even though pick didn’t count.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 4:56 pm1. Kenneth Gainwell. Showed the best visions we’ve seen as a Steelers RB since Leveon Bell and carried the offense

Tomlin for having the team ready.
But a minus for not kicking the FG.

Heyward batted that ball right to Watt. The one sack Watt got was a team sack. The quickest he moved all day was when he lobbied the stats keeper for a sack on the play he tripped the QB but Benton finished it and his effort on the INT celebration was very impressive

Queen made a bunch of good plays in the backfield today, as well as good plays elsewhere.
Finished with a sack, 3 tackles for a loss, and 8 overall solos.
Very strong game for him.

The biggest sin is we live in a day and age where another team has perfected an unstoppable play in that situation and we’re too dumb or lazy to copy it.Obviously wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:13 pmA potted plant runs a play on fourth and a half yard to go.

Watt scared the living shit out of Wentz and was right in his face when Herbig (who Wentz didn't see) blasted him for a sack.
Watt was excellent today. Herbig was better but that was one helluva team effort to pressure the living fuck out of Wentz.

Herbig will soon be wanting to get paid like an elite pass rusher.
I'm pretty sure he's an elite pass rusher too.

That was the worst coach WIN I have ever seen.
His end of game math is a fireable offense and I've seen rec league coaches fired for less.

This is typical Tomlin although I agree this might be the worst coached game of his career.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:22 pmThat was the worst coach WIN I have ever seen.

Too often, his players bail him out with a Herculean effort.
First Pierre almost bailed him out with an incredible near pick, then Herbig ended the motherfucker.
I hate Tomlin so much, but dude will win more games than he loses every fucking year no matter the circumstances.

If you are referring to the tush push, I'm not sure I want Rodgers in that situation. Maybe insert Mason but that would be a dead giveaway.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:17 pmThe biggest sin is we live in a day and age where another team has perfected an unstoppable play in that situation and we’re too dumb or lazy to copy it.

C'mon dude, run it with Gainwell or Kaleb Johnson with Outlier behind them or fucking Derrick Harmon or really any strong motherfucker.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:38 pmIf you are referring to the tush push, I'm not sure I want Rodgers in that situation. It was third and 1 yard.
Run the Tush Push twice and it's game over.
Probably only needed to run it once.

Sabotages the go for it decision with a play call with a low percentage chance for success.
Burns a timeout for no reason on the inside kick attempt.
Doesn't have a play call for fourth and short ready to go.
I do believe he is a game day fuckup, but I believe his fuckups are driven by his bias toward the defense.
He WANTS his defense, not his offense, on the field at the ends of games.
So he never factors the idea that his offense can win games into his thinking.

Everyone knows Hurts is running the tush push. Nobody stops it. Pick one of your TEs or RBs and use them on that play. They needed a foot not even a yard. Last year they had the second most mobile QB in the league and never figured out a way to run the fucking play. It’s complete coaching incompetence.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:38 pmIf you are referring to the tush push, I'm not sure I want Rodgers in that situation. Our QB was pretty efficient today. Deserves mention.
And a Jibbs yet again put “game day fuckup” on tape.
Such a dipshit.

So you are correct, until that play is outlawed, other teams should emulate it.

What's funny is...they DID run a tush push with Outlier carrying the ball iirc, earlier in the game.K_C_ wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:42 pmC'mon dude, run it with Gainwell or Kaleb Johnson with Outlier behind them or fucking Derrick Harmon or really any strong motherfucker.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 5:38 pmIf you are referring to the tush push, I'm not sure I want Rodgers in that situation. But he was too scared to run it again?
Like I said, Tomlin WANTS the defense to close out games.
He only lets the offense close them out when he doesn't have a choice.

BTW did anyone ask why Tomlin didn't try to close out the game on 4th and short?

To be honest I'm.more interested to learn why he called a halfback dive on 4th and goal from the 4 instead of a play with a higher chance of success.
I swear I felt like he deliberately sabotaged his team there because Rodgers essentially embarrassed him into going for it there.
And like I said, he is biased towards having his defense close out games as opposed to his offense.

My vote goes to DK Metcalf, Payton Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Kenneth Gainwell, Nick Herbig, Keanu Benton, DeShon Elliott.
Honorable mention… James Pierre, Patrick Queen, Cam Heyward, Chuck Clark, TJ Watt, Corliss Waitman, Spence Anderson and Darnell Washington.
Great to see the Team Efforts.

Watt didn’t have a sack. He also looks terrible, having now added a bizarre jump pass fake move to his arsenal once stuffed at the line.
Wasn’t so visible but a Brandon Echols did an outstanding job of coverage on the 3rd receiver. He completely erased one of the best WR3 guys in Nailor, who had been leading the NFLin beating man coverage.
Shoutout to the Steelers coordinators, who put together the Steelers best opponent-gameplanned game of Mike Tomlin’s career.

The Steelers offense averages 263.5 yards per game.
The Steelers defense allows 382.5 yards per game.
The Steelers are 3-1. No doubt yards don’t matter as much as points and Steelers are winning Turnovers and games. But negative 120 yard deficit teams just don’t usually win games. That’s some Wizard stuff right there.
