Just a thought here, maybe the lack of PT for Pat on Sunday is due to the fact that Steelers wanted to keep him healthy going into the bye week, possibly the Steelers are currently shopping him or plan on shopping him during their bye week....stay tuned.
Hot damn here comes another R5 pick!!!!

It’s a schematics/game plan thing. Arthur Smith is famous for burying his top receiving TEs in favor of extra blockers. Kyle Pitts in Atlanta would go weeks without any real targets or production.

Debating
Gotta get Connor Heyward on the field somehow.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 8:36 pmIt’s a schematics/game plan thing. Arthur Smith is famous for burying his top receiving TEs in favor of extra blockers. Kyle Pitts in Atlanta would go weeks without any real targets or production.

If any local media folks had some testicles, they’d ask Tomlin:
You guys paid Freiermuth as a Top 10 TE in this league, yet have buried him on the depth chart and don’t use him as a target in the passing game. He is getting snaps in line with a 3rd Te, FB, or #3 WR on most teams. Is your bigger mistake giving him that contract, or how you are choosing to use him?

I honestly think Jonnu Smith and Friermuth are a wash as players so this would be in line with a lot of the big moves they've made. They've become one of those crappy teams that mistake the momentum of lateral moves as some form of progress.
They aren't really making much use of any of the TE's despite all the talk about how they could use all these great 3 TE sets and buck trends in the league.
That said, I think the snap counts in this game had more to do with how the game unfolded. They were running it with a lead and doing so successfully which meant more Washington and for some reason Heyward.

Would it even take testicles at this point? There are a zillion things that are fair game after a decade of malfeasance by Tomlin, Colbert and Rooney.Steelperch wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:52 pmIf any local media folks had some testicles, they’d ask Tomlin:

Asking that question about TEs should be about the same as asking if taupe is a soothing color. These outlets that rely on clicks sure don’t know how to make money by asking legit questions for the headline and clicks. Instead we get Mark Madden reported that Ed Bouchette reported that color rush jerseys will be worn this season.
