Saw an article [probably AI-generated dung] that said Steelers are very high on Howard. Think he could be the QB of the future.
I've heard absolutely nothing on Howard. Anxious to see him in preseason (and Rudolph, for the laughs).

All I know is that with Broderick Jones protecting Rodgers' blindside and Fautanu, who is basically a rookie on the right, I expect to see plenty of Mason and Will Howard this season.

Fingers crossed for all the bad juju to be sent Pittsburgh's way and for this to be the worst regular season of our lifetimes.

Any defensive coordinator that doesn't play straight two deep man under defense vs Pittsburgh should be unceremoniously fired. Rush 4 , man coverage, two safeties deep. Aaron Rodgers was close to the worst QB in the NFL vs it last year, and the Steelers receivers are not exactly hard to cover, especially running the stupid shit they call a passing offense.

I'm looking forward to Gareth Warren pushing for a roster spot. OL depth is a spot that can be upgraded.
I'd think about trading Mason to TEN if Howard shows well. With Levis out for the year, they need a backup.

While the national talking heads were creaming themselves over Shedeur Sanders' meaningless OTA passing stats, Howard quietly put up better ones, for what it's worth. That's all I've heard so far.

Tomlin will never go without his precious veteran backup QB.

Which is better: Mason Rudolph or no one? Hmmm.

Mason personally saved the NHALS streak for Tomlin 2 years ago.
No way he's going anywhere with Rodgers being eligible for Social Security and Will Howard being a rookie.

P.S.: Devlin Hodges saved Christmas that year by:
1. bringing PIT from behind to defeat Cincinnati after Rudolph got hurt for win 6
2. beating CLE for the 7th win
3. beating Arizona for the team's 8th and final win
The last game Mason Rudolph finished that year, he threw 4 INTs and bowed out with the team's record being 5-5.
So the idea that "Mason personally saved NHALS" is kind of revisionist history.

Steelers could be a in a reverse-bidding war with Kenny Pickett
Kenny or Mason - who will TEN choose?

Rudolph will never be some stud QB by any stretch, but I honestly don't think he's a scrub either.
Let's say Broderick gets Rodgers killed in week 4. With Mason under center the NHALS is still very much in play.
He proved that a few years ago and offensively I think this team could be better than in past years. Metcalf is proven and he isn't an imbecile. God knows Kaleb Johnson could very quickly be an upgrade to Najee and with Warren our backfield could be very dangerous. Our TE room just got massively better with Jonnu Smith. Zach Frazier might be on his way to becoming a Pro Bowl center quickly and the guards are very good.
I know you aren't a Roman Wilson fan but I think he'll be a major upgrade over Van Jefferson. CAIII is a damn good WR in his own right and we might not be as bad at WR as many presume (I also think they'll add a veteran before the season anyway just in case.)
The big issue, as everyone knows, is at offensive tackle. If Fautanu can stay healthy, most believe he could be a stud RT. Broderick Jones....well....at least he showed up in Bettis shape ("the best shape of his life") and from what I've read, Jones is busting his ass to improve and that's great news. Also looking on the bright side, I'm not sure Jones at LT can be any worse than he was at RT and I'm pretty sure STD could be as good as Dan Moore was last season.
There is room for optimism. Super Bowl level optimism? Oh fuck no. That will have to wait until after they take a stud QB in the first round of the 2026 draft, or Will Howard plays this season and somehow looks like the next Ben Roethlisberger.

i was hoping the Steelers would trade up and get Brock Bowers. They moved up for crappy Bush but not for a Crazy talented TE. Fautanu who was hurt in college. He has to pan out.

This camp and obviously each preseason game will be huge for Roman Wilson. He has to stay healthy and he has to impress. End of story.
But if Roman can stay healthy, as much as I love CAIII, I don't think he has the #2 WR job wrapped up. Not by a long shot. CAIII is a good player but can be upgraded and if Roman Wilson can stay healthy, he most certainly can be a major upgrade at the #2 WR position. No doubt in my mind.
Looking forward to seeing what Wilson can do because the talent is there and it's put up or shut up time for him.

Gun to my head, I think CA3 and Wilson are woefully miscast in this offense that likes throwing to the boundary and avoiding MOF. Chiefs or Dolphins would find a way to make use of these dudes. Art Smith is still stuck in the Mesozoic Era where he doesn't believe in such risk.
But since they are both Steelers, I want them to succeed in spite of the idiots in charge. Color me pessimistic either will shine with such a limited offense/opportunities.

I am thankful that the Steelers started camp.........
as we all get the KC humor back again...LOL

I just made the mistake of clicking on one of Tomlins camp press conferences
I made it through about 4 minutes before I clicked away to avoid stabbing myself
He’s such a fucking dunce
He can’t provide normal and direct answers, he has to try and use big words that are often misplaced in the context
I’ll be glad when he’s gone, so I dont have to hear his pseudo intellectual nonsense, almost as much as having an improved team

I'm headed on Friday. Hoping rain will hold off.
Going to see a Led Zeppelin cover band (Get the Led Out) in Greensburg Friday night. Makeup concert from January when the singer got sick. Found out training camp is only 15 minutes away so decided to make it Steelers/Led Zeppelin Day lol. What could be better? Lol
Anyone know any good Steelers restaurants near camp to hit after? Haven't been in a long time. Seem to remember going to one not too far from camp but can't remember the name.

Mr. Toads (?) was a good local bar but admittedly my last visit to the underrated town of Greensbiurg was 30 years ago.
Anyway
If any of y’all are heading to camp please scout the OL
Specifically Broderick Jones.
Dude literally is the key to ending NHALS once and for all

This will be my fourth time. They are so very cool. I like they do the small arenas/theaters. Saw them once at Kennedy Center in DC

Reading something interesting this morning. From yesterday.
Switching up coverage looks on defense that resulted in an INT.
Moving around DLine players disguising their positioning pre-snap….
Got to admit this is music to the ears.
