Not gonna be much different than last season with one quality WR. Well except for the lack of drama.

Oh sorry I didn’t see this thread.
Awful timing for this trade. Awful.
We better hope Roman Wilson can play.

Wouldn’t we have got a 3rd rounder if Pickens left after next season?

As someone who is rooting for losses, just let me say that today's news is FANTASTIC.
Pickens is an enormous man-child, but he was the only reason this offense was even borderline watchable the past few years.

Shocked we couldn’t get a 2nd for him.
Again, I see this as more egg on the face of Fraudlin. Couldn’t reel in and get a talented WR in check.
This franchise is still descending. I wonder how much farther these clowns can sink us.

Does trading away Crazy George open the door or close it for the long awaited Aaron Rodgers signing?

IMO it doesn’t hurt. Rogers may be thinking in this pathetic O, Crazy George may have been a huge Diva not getting enough balls. Less WR drama is a good thing. Quitting on your team is hard to come back from. Unfortunate that he has so much talent but is a mental midget.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:24 amDoes trading away Crazy George open the door or close it for the long awaited Aaron Rodgers signing?

Pickens was about to be a huge problem unless they signed to a huge extension, now he’s Jerry’s problem. Pickens has the same agent as Micah Parsons, who is also seeking a new deal, should be fun in Dallas next year.
I would expect Steelers to sign Keenan Allen or Amari Cooper before camp, they might also know that Rodger’s isn’t coming and might possibly just be throwing in the towel for 2025 and finally getting ready for a true rebuild in 2026.

I would’ve just as soon waited for the comp pick especially since with draft over the Steelers once again have a rather barren WR corps
But
We want volunteers not hostages.
Pickens unfollowed the Steelers
He wanted out.
They took what they could get just like Dionte Johnson trade.
Good stuff, Tomlin (asshole)

I might actually agree now is the time for a total rebuild (not that it would happen.)Steeldrama wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:40 amI would’ve just as soon waited for the comp pick especially since with draft over the Steelers once again have a rather barren WR corps

Amari Cooper is washed and so is Keenan Allen. Might be time to look to trade Watt and Fitzpatrick and now the DJ Metcalf trade looks ridiculous.
Had they traded Pickens for a third on draft day they could have drafted a starting level WR in he second or third. Now we have e to pray Roman Wilson takes a huge leap forward.
Rudolph and Will Howard have to be shitting themselves.

Anyone thinking that Pickens was worth a 2nd was eating some high apple pie in the sky. I think they Khan did well to get a 3rd. I thought it was going to be at best 4th. The only reason I am disappointed is I am on the Team Drama Train. I wanted to see Rodgers and Pickens battle in the press over targets. I wanted to see Metcalf threaten to break George in half if he didn’t knock off his shenanigans.
Oh well. The draftniks have something to be happy about ….

I want this to be the case. It would help them pick closer to the top of next years draft for a future franchise QB, but I doubt that’s the case.StillerDownSouth wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:40 amPickens was about to be a huge problem unless they signed to a huge extension, now he’s Jerry’s problem. This is the 4th WR in a row the Steelers have had to trade for behavior reasons: AB, Chase Claypool, Dionte Johnson, and now Pickens.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:22 amShocked we couldn’t get a 2nd for him.

But players really love playing for Tomlin, or so I'm told.
Let's hope Roman Wilson caught up to the train.
So far AB, Chase and Dionte had their best years with Tomlin as their coach and completely imploded after leaving. Seems like Tomlin kept them in check much better than other coaches.

Biggest loser in this trade is Dallas, no way they are going to be able to pay him and Parsons…he will be one and done in Dallas.
I love all this hope around 2026 and getting a QB. Like I trust this regime to identify and develop a QB.

I can’t understand how anyone would massage Tomlin’s nutsack at this point. The guy is a fraud and a cancer. He has destroyed the culture and that locker room.

I didn’t expect a 2nd, but it would have been stupid to trade him for less than a 2025 3rd or 2026 2nd* (equivalent of a 2025 2nd). We keep teaching our players that we reward harming the team. And now it’s happening more and more often. Surprise.
*if it wasn’t clear, this is an overly complicated way of saying that this is a stupid trade.

Yeah, I’m with you.
Who are they targeting? The only QB I’d want next season is Manning, because he’s the only QB who would get help to develop outside of Tomlin’s coaching staff.
But they won’t get Manning.
The Browns have two #1’s next year, and so do the Rams... both teams who are looking for a future QB. If they want, they will both get their QB before the Steelers, who at best will get the #3 QB in the draft. Is there another Ben in next year’s draft? Maybe. But there is no Bill Cowher on the sidelines, and no Ken Whisenhunt.

After the fucking draft? Are you fucking serious?

Good move, one less major league asshole locker room cancer gone.
Picked up a third, which I’m surprised.
I believe they will have 4 3rd round picks next year, their original, now Dallas’s, and 2 3rd round comps.
Plenty enough draft capital to move up for a QB an still keep 2 third round picks.

Fuck Tomlin!
This is an abomination of player and talent mismanagement!
A generational talent traded away. The only reason he is a head case is because of the buffoonery running the offense.
You have Picasso on your team and you force him to do clay sculptures all day with a very smelly and darker clay substance.
Watch GP turn into a WR legend. Body matched with hand control like no other receiver in the league.
You could not pay me to go to a Steeler game at this point. What a joke!

Reports are they got the highest return from GP. Apparently, no team wanted to give a day 2 pick for a headcase on the last year of his contract...except Jerry

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Damn. Barely improved on what likely would have been an R3 comp. I guess a year earlier than that comp, but still.
I think the league has wisened up to the Steelers ways in respect to trading for their cast off wide receiversThrillsseeker wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:22 amShocked we couldn’t get a 2nd for him.

Plus, it’s abundantly clear that Pickens is an emotional cluster fuck. I’d go so far as to say there’s a 50% chance he’s out of the league before the end of his next contract.
He is so clearly unstable
