My sentiments exactly Drama, depressing indeed, to absolutely positively know we are stuck with this turd until he decides hes had enough. And then just to make it a little more painful you realize hes only 52 yrs old, and he doest run away from teaching, he runs to it. OOOfFdepressing indeed. Any idea where i send that Fire Tomlin billboard money to?Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 4:23 pmGuess I could've posted this in any number of never ending, depressing threads, but I like the title of this one.
Thank You Indeed.
I for one found the Wild Card round to be quite the snoozefest (went to bed at halftime of last night’s Redskins win).
I did however meet some of my Bills buddies out yesterday afternoon for wings and drinks.
No, the game wasn’t close, BUT what I missed was the playoff ATMOSPHERE.
Seeing a bar full of cheering Bills fans (and a smattering of Broncos fans) was great but at the same time kind of depressing.
I can’t spew out specific details of Steelers’ playoff wins and losses the way a lot of you poasters, but I do have vivid clarity of that playoff FEELING. The HOPE and BELIEF that the Steelers not only COULD win the game but WOULD win the game.
Whether tailgating or hanging at local spots like the old Clark Bar and Grill, I can’t forget that playoff atmosphere mainly from the Cowher years (MAN, I miss that guy). The nervous ANTICIPATION. The EXCITEMENT building with friends and fans before kickoff.
Now?
Tomlin.
I turned down more than one invite to get out and watch the Steelers/Ravens "GAME" on Saturday night.
Why bother?
I would rather be left alone.
I knew the Steelers were going to lose (In typical embarrassing fashion).
You (most of you) knew the Steelers were going to lose.
Such a dogshit defeatist feeling facing an inevitable loss days BEFORE the game even kicked off.
I want THE FEELING back.
I want that HOPE and big game EXCITEMENT to return to my soul, MY SOUL!!!
I want to feel that HAPPINESS like those Bills fans yesterday who ENJOYED seeing their stadium ROCKING while watching Josh Allen and their team dismantle Sean Payton and the Donkeys.
But alas,
Tomlin.

If there was a metric on this board, I bet it would have been registering an all time high number of posters predicting a loss. And not just a loss, a dismantling. Sure when Duck was playing it was bad, but there was still hope around the corner.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 4:23 pm

Wow, I could have written this almost verbatim. Yeah, I have no enjoyment watching the Steelers anymore. I just can't get behind every season being a carbon copy of the last and hearing "we accept that" or "the standard". Fix this shit. Arthur Smith came in and literally ran the exact same playbook that Fichtner did. We always suck in Dec and Jan because our defense is fucking gassed from being on the field all season.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 4:23 pmGuess I could've posted this in any number of never ending, depressing threads, but I like the title of this one.

its the loss of playoff "feeling" and hope they can win and the loss of the Steelers brand ... thats what Cowher had ... even when they lost you enjoyed/liked the team and the passion and the brand. Not anymore ... as Kirk Herbstreit (basically) said ... this is not the Pittsburgh Steelers.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 5:15 pmIf there was a metric on this board, I bet it would have been registering an all time high number of posters predicting a loss. I tried to manifest some positivity just prior to the game in the game thread to get the heart pumping and get some positive juju flowing. It was extinguished almost immediately with the dropped pass to the TE!
We can book an exact repeat of this shit for next season already. Will be like watching Baywatch without Pam. CHiPs without Baker. Dukes of Hazard without Bo or Luke (one of those fucks left)…Fonzi jumping the shark; Chrissy leaving Threes Company and 2 and 1/2 Men without Sheen!

I don't need to win Super Bowls because I went the first 21 years of my life without winning one and I was a rabid fan. How am I supposed to get excited for a game where I know we're just trying to run out the clock from snap #1 and hoping to keep the game close enough to win with a FG? Oh it's 3rd and 7 and we need a first down? Let's throw it 5 yards when the defense already knows to keep the play in front of them. Oh middle of the field is open? Too risky, let's throw it to the sideline to limit the chance it gets intercepted?
I'll follow passively but I'm done making this team a priority until Tomlin is shown the door. We're literally living the definition of insanity. How long until Rooney wakes up?
How long till Rooney wakes up? About the same amount of time it takes Art to wipe off all of Tomlin's jizz running down his chin every year!StillerInCT wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:05 pmWow, I could have written this almost verbatim. Speaking of motivation, I just had the thought that they should create a display of the six in a row playoff losses and put it opposite the Super Bowl trophy case.
I defy anyone to watch Mike Tomlin's press conference after that Ravens game and tell me that even he was "surprised" at the results. Christ, he didn't even look like he cared at this stage.955876 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:41 pmI can’t spew out specific details of Steelers’ playoff wins and losses the way a lot of you poasters, but I do have vivid clarity of that playoff FEELING. Great point and where I’m at as well.
Used to be I could hardly sleep the. Out before a playoff game. Even in games where we were the underdog I always had some hope we had a chance to pull it out if things fell our way.
Have completely lost that feeling. I’m expect us to lose and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.
And it isn’t just because we’ve lost the game(s) but rather the way we’ve done it.
We have not been even remotely competitive in these games. From the opening kick-off we’ve gotten our asses kicked till the end.
At no point in these games has there any point t where we feel we can pull it out.
Score a TD to close the gap and what happens 9.99 times out of ten?? The D surrenders another long scoring drive.
Jibbs has turned this franchise into a joke.
Easiest out in the lineup by far.

His fat as paycheck will still arrive in the mail or via direct deposit.
His boss is happy as a pig in shit we simply made the playoffs.
Most fans think he’s great.
The media constantly runs cover for him while proclaiming how great he is. All failures this team experiences he’s a victim of rather than being responsible for.
When you factor his pay vs expectations/criticism etc. he might literally be one of the most if not THE most privileged employees in the world.
He also looks like a bloated fat slob over there. Too comfortable and thinks he’s untouchable.
