Another opinion on Justin Fields.
This is supposedly from one of his former coaches in Chicago, and is from a 3-part series on the drafting of Caleb Williams by Tyler Dunne.
When you watch him, watch his eyes. He tries to see the whole thing and he doesn’t see anything. His eyes are all over the place, and it’s just really hard to watch. It’s just bad football.
I’m sure the Steelers will fix him.

His vision is terrible. It’s no mystery. The second the ball is snapped he’s already thinking about bailing from the pocket and running.
Sounds like Kenny Pickett? Well him and Fields have that in common.
Russell Wilson as of late also shows a tendency to bail from a pocket.
Let’s see who wants to stay in the pocket and make some plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Clyde Stubblefield has a better chance to stay in the pocket for the Steelers than any of those dudes.

We had that guy last year. You know, the leader of the entire NFL in QBR over the last four games.
His name was Mason motherfucking Almighty.
The year before, NO ONE wanted Mason. PIT signed him to vet min to be their THIRD STRING QB.
And despite some fans clamoring to make him the starter, Mason settled this offseason for a 1-yr backup deal for less than $3M. Probably not even an average salary for a backup.
I look for Mason to be the face of the XFL in 2025

Exactly, and that's probably his ceiling.
He’d have to be an excellent WR to even reach Korky V2.0. Kordell was wasted as a pocket QB could have had a HOF type career had he just been a WR

Yep. He was electric at WR. Could have had a Hines type of career. I believe it would have been good for him and the team as they would have had to keep looking for a QB. Several of those teams were a QB away from being in the SB. I remember wanting them to give Jim Miller more of a shot. He got one half of football then Cowher went to Mike freaking Tomczak and Miller was never to be hard from again until he went to the Bears. Cowher's love for Tomczak and Kordell at QB were two things that drove me crazy about him. He's still my favorite coach but he could be a stubborn sob.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Kordell could jizz on people w/ the ball in his hands no doubt.... Then he'd turn around and jizz on the fans in the stands by throwing a boner int.
Didn't you hear if he played now he'd be a Hall of Fame qb. I can't stomach the thought of sitting through seasons like 98 and 99 again. Crying on the sidelines in Tampa, Jesus Christ.

Just goes to show how stupid some GM's in the NFL are.
The Steelers gave Mitch Trubisky a huge contract for a back up QB.
How'd that work out? Who do you think is a better NFL QB, Mitch Trubisky or Mason Rudolph? What are their records in games they appeared in for the Steelers?
Hilariously, Buffalo snatched Mitch up the minute he was cut by the Steelers. You have to sign a talent like Mitch Trubisky the second he hits the market.
Guys like that don't grow on trees you know.

Did everybody see the reports today that both Nick Foles and Andy Dalton hated Justin Fields?
I need to find the article but supposedly Nick Foles, a Super Bowl MVP, was trying to work with Justin Fields and was teaching him something specific when he realized that Fields wasn't paying attention. Completely blew Foles off.
Similar situation with Dalton who was no Super Bowl MVP, but he was a quality NFL QB for a good while.
I had hope for Justin Fields developing, but that hope has pretty much dissipated.

If true, and I wouldn't doubt it at all, sounds like a perfect match to be a yes man for Tomlin.

On the other hand, you have Russell Wilson. Everyone raves about his work ethic, but it kind of makes me laugh. Reminds me of Ron posting the pictures of a shirtless Brady Quinn. Look at those abs! Bet he can throw a football over them mountains!
I'm not impressed with Wilson's schtick. I have no doubt the guy keeps himself in tip top shape physically, but the problems with him are mental at this stage.

I had never heard those stories until yesterday and fuck they pissed me off.
All we can do is hope that Fields being traded for a used condom and a 6er of Blatz will humble him and he will come to Pittsburgh ready to work and learn from Russell Wilson.
Supposedly, Wilson was Fields' hero growing up and that might put Fields in a different state of mind when it comes to learning how to become a QB. Just like Kenny refusing to dress (allegedly) and being shitty to Russ (allegedly) it just blows my fucking mind that these dudes who have ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING will shit all over and ignore folks who have won Super Bowls and been to Pro Bowls, WHO ARE FUCKING TRYING TO HELP THEM.
Right now, Fields can suck a cock.

This news sucks. I'm with you on this issue. Hopefully this humbled Fields, and he takes this opportunity to learn

gojira5150, I sent you a PM.
I dunno boys. What do you expect his old QB room to say; Fields was perfect. Had it all did it all. He was the definition of QB understudy. The kid has a Hall of Fame career in front of him. I mean com'on, its Nick Foles & Big Red.
The Steelers gave him a new shot. Lets see what he does with it. Let him live or die.
