Joe Milton pros and cons
Who follows Tennessee regularly ??
Thoughts on Joe Milton ??
Highlights show huge arm and not easy to tackle with better than most mobility and build
What’s the other side of the coin ??

Was in the same HS with my kid. Perfect QB build. Milton is now in his 6th year in college, first full year as starter. Still a bit raw. Comp to me: a much bigger armed version of Blake Bortles, another central FL HS product. Not super accurate passer, fast but not very elusive running. Would need a lot of work to develop in the NFL and process reading pro defenses.
Was not wonderful in his time at TTUN.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Looked like crap vs Georgia. He was not under much pressure and just was inaccurate.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 7:20 amWho follows Tennessee regularly ??

Practice squad guy at best. Has all the tools but just can’t put it all together.
Son goes to UT so I watched Milton a lot. Inaccurate as hell and while his touch has improved, he still has a long way to go. He would fit in the Steelers offense as everything is to the sideline and nothing in the middle of the field.
It's a hard pass for me.
Latest prospectus on Big Joe Milton. I think he needs lots of work. But some team likely will take a flyer and draft him.

“Given the Steelers’ potential needs at quarterback (or, at the very least, to bring in competition), we’ll take a look at Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III.
QB Joe Milton III
Position: Quarterback
Class: Fifth-year senior, Tennessee (transferred from Michigan in 2021)
Size: 6’5, 244 lbs
Age: 23 years old
Projected draft range: Round 5
Joe Milton III Notes
Joe Milton III is about as tantalizing a prospect as they come. He has a prototypical NFL size and a cannon attached to his right arm. His journey to the NFL Draft was certainly circuitous.
After committing to Michigan in 2018, Milton III could not latch on as the Wolverines starting QB, which prompted him to transfer to Tennessee following the 2021 season. He held a clipboard for the majority of the last two years behind Hendon Hooker, a third-round pick last year by the Detroit Lions. The burly signal-caller got his chance as a full-time starter after Hooker suffered a season-ending injury towards the tail-end of 2022 and made the most of it. He threw for four TDs and zero INTs in his last two contests, which included an Orange Bowl win over Clemson.
He was able to carry on that momentum into this past season, throwing for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns and just five interceptions”…

In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

If rostering Joe Milton III somehow satisfies the galactic formula to then roster Nico Iamaleava I'd be all for it.
It worked for the Volunteers.

I wouldn’t mind him in the 7th round.
Ah no...we don't need to waste a draft pick on Milton. These blind fliers on kids with physical tools at the QB position don't work. Gotta spot the kids that are accurate and can process with enough physical tools that make it interesting.
Maybe a mid-rounder on someone like Pratt from Tulane.
