Hip Drop Tackle
I mean. If they pass some rule and try to police this starting next season. You know the NFL will fuck it up and it will be inconsistently called all the time. Just like DPI, roughing, etc....
Not sure how the game itself will look ten or fifteen years from now.

The defender will have a lawyer on the field with them at all times, who will ensure that they fill out the required permitting prior to the tackle, then the tackle will have to be preceded by an acknowledgement by both parties that it will take place, then the tackling person (pronouns) will then look at the opposing person, making certain eye contact, then the opposing person will stop forward motion, notify the referee and both lawyers of the impending motion to the turf (field), then drop to one knee, then notify the referee that the knee has touched the turf (field). The referee will then ask for a ruling from NFL New York and Brussels, which will notify the referee that there has been a tackle, only after a fifteen minute mandated review process by a committee comprised of eleven delegates from the WEF. When the referee receives the acknowledgement of the review process beginning, there will be a two minute commercial timeout. After the timeout, the ball will be placed at the reviwed spot of the "tackle", then play will commence, but only after the DEI committees have been consulted to ensure equity and fairness and proper record keeping for the gambling corporations.

It's almost unwatchable today. I used to watch alot of nfl games, I could care less now except for the Steelers. They, Roger, really ruined this game. These guys sign up to play a game and get paid handsomely for it, they know the risks. Touching a qb helmet, hitting the qb a split second after they throw it, can't hit them low. At least I remember how this game was supposed to be played.rooneytunes wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 12:17 pmI mean. If they pass some rule and try to police this starting next season. This may be one of the funniest things ever written here. Hall of Fame worthy post.

always the people "They have ruined the game with the pussification of hitting... " followed shortly by "COME ON REF! LATE HIT!!!!!" from the same person.
Add "Hip Drop Tackle" to that lexicon of yinzer... and it's not just yinzers... every fan base will be there watching.... betting... cheering... like fools.

It's almost to the point where the defenders are going to start getting hurt trying not to get flagged when they tackle someone. The offensive players already have to let the defender make the tackle if he's not looking when they try to block him to avoid the blocking too hard ridiculous rule. The tackling too hard is getting just as bad. I'd love for a coaches to start calling this shit out and getting 15 yard penalties complaining about them. Maybe then they would reign this shit in. But that won't happen. Paychecks over game every time.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
