Following the thrilling victory over the Baltimore Ravens I had to track down the ultimate Baltimore figure and get his thoughts on the game.

I heard the whistling and kids shouting "Omar’s coming". Then I got extremely nervous. But in spite of his menacing trench coat and trademark shotgun, Omar quickly put me at ease.

Omar: Yeah, it was a good game. That’s how the game be played in this division. It’s never pretty when these guys go at it. What you need? How can I help? And don’t worry, I ain’t never put my gun on no citizen!

Thank you, Mr. Little. And thank you for sitting down for this interview. But just out of curiosity would you consider Matt Canada a citizen? I mean he clearly has been violating our Sundays and he needs to go. It’s no different to when they violated your Sunday and tried to shoot you when you were taking your mom to church. You may need to put your gun on him lol.

Omar: Then he gots to get got!

So, he’s gotta go now then? During the bye? You think the Rooneys will pull the trigger? I do.

Omar: You got me confused with a man who repeats himself. The game is the game out there… you either play or get played. You feel me?

Yeah, I feel you. So, you must be a fan of Lamar Jackson. He’s a heck of a player and always scares me. But lately he’s really not been playing the game that well and our defense made him look like Flacco with a big bank account.

Omar: "Lamar got got. Ain’t nothing more you can say about that. You people don’t get it do you. It’s not about the money. He paid but he not playing the game. You got that kid slinging the rock in San Fran marking no dollars and these rich men north of Richmond (and in Denver) can’t play a lick. Or won’t. Kenny gonna be i’ight though. Give that puppy time to grow. You see how he froze his coach when he changed the play right. He give’n you a glimpse. He can be an outlaw.

Yeah, I was gonna ask about him but tell me what you think about Peezy’s boy. It was great to see Joey Porter Junior do his thing right?

Omar: Like I always say, "you come at the King you best not miss". He gonna be the King out there for a long time. He got that corner on lock now. Lamar came at him and he paid.

You think last week was his coming out party huh? You think he’s gonna start from now on?

Omar: Oh indeed!

Nice. So, Mr. Little, we’re in first place but it feels like we are in dead last around here. We are actually in third place in the entire conference. Yet, everyone wants to fire Tomlin and play the rookies. Don’t you think we should trust him? He’s a great coach and as he says, "The standard is the standard".

Omar: A man’s got to have a code. He has a code and he lives by it. I respect that. He also might die by it - I respect that too. You gotta ask yourself - will his replacement be better? You don’t won’t worse. Don’t worry, things is looking up around here.

Every team is dealing with the same kinda stuff related to injuries. Our bye is much needed but I feel like we’re gonna need another one later. We’ve lost Heyward, Johnson, Freiermuth, Harvin, O-Line guys and even thought we lost Kenny. Yet, we are on top and in the preverbal driver’s seat. Do you think this year’s team is better equipped to handle key losses like this? Losses that are always going to be there in this league?

Omar: No doubt. That Khan man pulling strings. You think "Next Man Up" happens without him? Y’all got the new corner King for a Canadian cat that just got shipped away. He in a good spot though, I’m not gonna lie. All the rookies are easing their way in. If you get healthy this team is way better in week 7 than it was in week 1. There are no easy games in this game but the schedule doesn’t get harder.

Omar: Don’t get me wrong Kahn ain’t perfect yo. He got a Gunner with no bullets, a center with no push and a feature back that makes his backup look like Barry Sanders. Your boys gonna have to fix stuff over the bye for real. But honestly, all the pieces are there. 11-6 is not a reach. Just remember, It’s all in the game yo, all in the game!

Watching Omar walk off into the night reminded me why he is one of the best characters on one of the best TV series ever - The Wire. Now I need a bye.

There are several dead, Omar, Lt. Daniels, Norman Wilson (Mayor’s aid), Prop Joe(he wasn’t the picture of health when he was young), old old man Sobotka, and The Deacon.

I have seen it 3 times in its entirety. Once when it originally aired , then again for the HD release, and then again because it was the best show ever.

Regardless, I don’t watch a lot of TV, and never watch HBO.
Which explains why I have no idea what that is…
