There are a few different threads discussing trades/cuts. Consolidating here.
10 players released as of this morning:
Among those released on Monday were offensive lineman Le'Raven Clark, offensive lineman William Dunkle, safety Jalen Elliott, running back Darius Hagans, cornerback Lavert Hill, defensive lineman Manny Jones, quarterback Tanner Morgan, linebacker Tanner Muse, linebacker Toby Ndukwe and safety Kenny Robinson.

As an FYI: Teams must have their rosters down to the final 53 by 4:00 on August 29th.

Be nice to somehow get Robinson back in the fold somehow, and I thought there was a strong chance Muse was making the squad. Hopefully Robinson can make it to the PS.

I’m with you on Muse. A little surprised.

I'm more surprised about Robinson than Muse.
Robinson looked like a better player than Tre Norwood to me.

We've got 17 more cuts to go... I'm pretty sure Norwood is going to be one of them, and maybe we released Robinson early to increase his chances of getting to the PS.
Thoroughly possible Danny Smith may have been given a choice between Muse and Killebrew and picked the guy he knew best.

Any names of other team cuts might be of Steelers interest?

Thanks for this, I was watching the Detroit Lions squad, my first cousins son was signed by them as a rookie free agent. I think he's on the bubble (as most rookie FAs) but he hasn't been cut yet.

Reports about him being cut, quote him as not being amused. He put in his Airpods and turned up his favorite song ‘Uprising’ by his favorite band. Tanner was also quoted as saying he should have never picked Bush as his muse for the art and craft of ILB!

Carolina Panthers LB...
Bumper Pool.
Who does that to a child?
Origin of name?
Was it a steamey night around a basement pool table.
Indy released RB
Kenyan Drake.
Tho with Jonathan Taylor uncertainty... can't see them releasing KD if he showed well in preseason.
I see a few former Steelers as of note....
James Washington, Malik Reed. Punter Corliss Waitman. K Matthew Wright.
Waitman. Avg. 2 more yards a punt than Harvin...
Tho in Denvers mile high.
Was OT Alex Leatherwood that bad after coming out of Alabama? 1st round, 17 overall. In 2021 draft. Raiders cut him after 1 year.
Claimed by bears.
He missed first half of last year with mononucleosis. They used him.at G also.
Practice squad flyer?

I don't get the M. Adams love by our FO/HC. I mean, is he really any betty than say, Ross Blacklock or Sheldon Day who the Vikings just waived? They would save you a few million bucks, too.
At 4pm today, there'll be 5-10 players available that can do, at least, what he does (if not better), but cheaper.

I liked Adams a lot when he first was signed and immediately forced into action 2 years ago. I thought he was a major find, but he was very ordinary last season and his level of play has definitely fallen off.
I honestly expect him to get cut.

Does Tomlin try to pair just cut Panther LB/SS Deion Jones with his LSU sidekick, Kwon Alexander? Could there be some synergy there? Jones might be on his last legs (even at 28), but does he offer enough to be ILB5/S5/emergency depth? Didn't MT have a slight crush on him early on -- can't quite remember?

Oh, yes, indeed... he was that bad. He was a bad prospect, he was bad in camp, bad in preseason, bad in games. For two teams now. Time to think about your life's work, son.

Was that the guy TJ Watt absolutely ASS RAPED in the first quarter and the Raiders were forced to bench him? I think Watt was destroying his replacement too but Watt got hurt, left and the game completely changed afterwards and the Steelers lost.
I know Ruggs beat us deep in that game for a TD.

Looks like HOU just cut WR/RS Steven Sims. So, does the guy that beat out Gunner get a call from us?

Taylor has been traveling with the team so I expect him to not be on PUP and be signed by next week.

I would not touch Leatherwood. i hated him coming out and nothing he has done has changed my mind since then.

Sims would be the right addition, get Gunner out.
Sims is an immediate upgrade at KR and can make tough catches for 1st down.
I was bummed to see him go

With every move, Kendrick Green is one step closer to making this roster!

Better to absolutely suck at multiple positions that to be at least serviceable at one.

Steelers just traded Kendrick Green and a 2024 6th rounder to Houston for a 2024 7th rounder. Huge win.
Edit: actual deal is for a 2025 6th. I was making funny while we were awaiting terms.

Listen, it is not at all outrageous to imagine that he succeeds there. If they use him on the move, he's at least going to be worth a 7th round pick.

If anyone is unfamilar with the term "improving at the margins", this is precisely what the FO is doing and it's so simple, yet so effective.
Look it's hard to replace top end talent bc it comes with major expense/cap considerations. But if you improve the bottom part of your roster (which is cheap and easy) every year, you've now got depth. You can now trade that depth down the road for other assets.
Marvelous job this offseason. We could win 5 games and they made all the right moves.
