Not a fan of the week one match-up with SF’s superior coaching staff while Jibbs eases into the season.

A competent attorney might be able to successfully argue cruel & unusual punishment.

Being a CA guy I’m going to look into going to either the week 3 in Vegas or week 7 in LA.

Prefer Vegas on Sunday Night Football.

I am going to the Rams game. I live about 40 miles east of Sofi stadium. They charge $100 just to park. I'll park at Cal State Dominguez Hills and just walk over there. Or I'll park close and Uber to the stadium.

Steel City Star
@steelcitystar
The last time the Steelers faced the 49ers in week 1 was in 1993….

,,,,and this happened ⬇️
https://twitter.com/steelcitystar/statu ... 8200482820
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I could see maybe doing both as well. Mostly like jist one though.

This will be my third time seeing Steelers/Raiders on the road. Maybe this time we can manage not to fuck it up.

Previous two were disasters. Jibbs with his not knowing when to call a time out and Cowher starting a concussed Ben after gettting knocked out the week before against Atlanta. The season he bounced his big head off a car.

Vegas the better road destination.

They’d better be 9-5 after the Colts game, because those last three games are a problem.

Oh they were certainly both shit. I figure we will have to buck that trend at some point.

Given the bad karma luck with Raiders the Rams game might be a better bet.

Still though, would rather go to Vegas for the weekend than to LA…

Much easier logistically flying into Vegas and doing stuff/getting to game. It’s easy peazy.

-2 Sunday 1pm to Thursday games, both home…counter for the crummy bye.
-WK 6 bye to recover from preseason bumps and bruises.
-Sunday night game from Vegas to Houston the following week is our worst travel scenario!
-LAR after the bye is lucky!
-Saturday xmas weekend home game to Sun in SEA New Years Eve game has loss written all over it.

After a summer with three Vegas bachelor parties a few years back (thanks, "The Hangover" movies...), I'm still a little gun shy on Vegas, but yeah, getting from one interesting place to another in LA has always seemed a little bit of a chore, too. Love the city overall, though.

Vegas is great for short stays. In & out. I’ve done it a few times.

When Aerosmith was doing their residency the wife and I flew in, had dinner, saw the show, and flew out the next morning.

Did the same with my daughter but took her to see Britney Spears.

Multiple days in Vegas can get ya.

1 Sept. 10 vs. 49ers 1:00 PM FOX W, SF has no QB
2 Sept. 18 vs. Browns (Mon.) 8:15 PM ABC W Browns are flat out putrid, could be a fun home game to attend, crowd should be rocking, especially considering how many siblings the Steelers have now.
3 Sept. 24 @ Raiders 8:20 PM NBC W Who is their QB, journeyman Brad Johnson?
4 Oct. 1 @ Texans 1:00 PM CBS This better be a fucking win.
5 Oct. 8 vs. Ravens 1:00 PM CBS I can see this being a loss with Mr Potato Head trying to prove his worth, if the Steelers can play smashmouth and hit that idiot in the head, that'll teach him a lesson.
6 BYE
7 Oct. 22 @ Rams 4:05 PM FOX L Stafford passes for 1,000 yards
8 Oct. 29 vs. Jaguars 1:00 PM CBS Goes either way
9 Nov. 2 vs. Titans (Thurs.) 8:15 PM Prime Video W I think they contain Henry and Tannehill is a bum.
10 Nov. 12 vs. Packers 1:00 PM CBS L dont like this one.
11 Nov. 19 @ Browns 1:00 PM CBS W
12 Nov. 26 @ Bengals 1:00 PM CBS L Burrows that prancing douche will pull one out of his rear
13 Dec. 3 vs. Cardinals 1:00 PM CBS W Oompa Loompas can't play QB at the pro level
14 Dec. 7 vs. Patriots (Thurs.) 8:15 PM Prime Video L Billicheck makes Coach look like a moron.
15 TBD @ Colts TBD TBD TBD
16 Dec. 23 vs. Bengals (Sat.) 4:30 PM NBC L Bungs and Mixon stomp a mudhole.
17 Dec. 31 @ Seahawks 4:05 PM FOX L
18 TBD @ Ravens TBD TBD W

A problem with Vegas is that the novelty wears off in a hurry. I used to love going in my late 20s when I'd get hammered poolside, play some cheap table games, and wander around the Strip until the wee hours of the morning.

I'm at the point now where I'd rather see a show or two and enjoy a nice dinner. Problem is that everything worth seeing/doing in Vegas is obscenely overpriced.

If you haven't been, it's worth checking out. Or, as you said, go if there a show you want to see. Otherwise, if you've already been once or twice then it's not really worth it.

They're not playing there this year, but one city I had an absolute blast in when I visited was Green Bay.

Disclaimer: I was there over Memorial Day weekend. Not in January.

I dig the mountains, but a trip to Grand Cayman a few years ago has me 100% on team 'secluded beach vacation'. I grew up on Lake Erie, so stepping into warm water was a shock

As an added bonus, there was a guy growing mangoes on his property a block down from our AirBnB. Made some fantastic salsa and fruity cocktails out of those bad boys. He was not up front about the heat of the Scotch Bonnets, however.
