2. 32 Joey Porter Jr. CB
I know I’m good with a CB here….
Must’ve not been No offers good enough to trade down.

I wasn’t really crazy about the thought at drafting him at 1.17, but I’ll take him at 2.1 all day long.

Should be a real shot in the ass for the defensive backfield.

BOOOOOOOOOO!!
A nepotism pick. Should have drafted the best CB in the draft (Gonzalez) with Elite cover skills. Instead, we get Ike 2.0. a CB with suspect hands. Unbelievable. Also lose the 120th pick to boot

At least he isn't a reach. I won't be disappointed if he is a fail.

We get Ike 2.0 out of this I will be ecstatic! Shut down corner without splash play, sign me up.gojira5150 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:22 pmBOOOOOOOOOO!!A nepotism pick. He has NO ball hawking skillz. He is horrible at tracking a ball in flight. Watch Gonzalez then watch JPJ. Tell me there isn't a big difference.Steelraptor wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:24 pmWe get Ike 2.0 out of this I will be ecstatic! This is purely because of his last name, imo
AZ traded 33 and 81
For 41 and 72.
Crazy to move back 8 spots and only go from 81 to 72

Wasn’t really tested by the rest of the pedestrian WR’s in the conference.
Suspect off man coverage and will face many shifty WR’s in the NFL.
Major bust potential, imo.
Oh well…it’s only a second rounder.

Ball hawking isn't everthing brother. Ike was ellte. Very elite. I don't care about interceptions if they don't throw to yur side. I am not even comparing JPJ to to Ike, but if he is then we just won big timegojira5150 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:27 pmHe has NO ball hawking skillz. He is horrible at tracking a ball in flight. Cards got the Titans 2nd
Swapped 3rds - basically moved up 11 spots
AND a 2024 3rd
I would’ve taken that trade in a second
Deep corner class
Get a good one later
Nepotism wins again
YOU SUCK, TOMLIN!

We already know the bloodline….
This kid has the opportunity to improve at his game and become something special.
With Fitzpatrick and Peterson as experienced players as on the field coaches….win,win.
I really don’t see the hate for a rookie that hasn’t played a down in the nfl yet.
Patience…..

They got a 3rd round pick next year and swapped picks this year. That’s not much and does nothing for you this year.Steeldrama wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:34 pmhttps://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status ... 90401?s=20

People are complaining about taking a player almost universally considered going 1.17 (or earlier) in the second round. Clear BPA. With impeccable bloodlines, elite measurables, and it’s a position of need.

Ya, Gonzales could be the better corner but I like JPJ in the 2nd AND getting the OT.
We are a better overall team as a result where the other way maybe our secondary is a bit better.
I don’t like nepotism. But do like this pick. Especially because I’d already made up my mind they might take home at 17. Not huge fan of that.
We’ve improved two units in a big way.
Otherwise we’d be getting who at OT here?
Now get Dline next.

If the back of the Jersey said Portman instead of Porter (I’m aware Penn St jerseys are nameless) the Steelers would’ve traded down
That’s my point
Tomlin picked his boy’s boy
Point isn’t whether Porter jr can or can’t play
But
Cam Smith
Juju Brent’s
DJ Turner
All comparable if not better corners
All still on the board
I would’ve cashed in on that gift from Chicago and traded down.
Oh well
It’s done
Maybe scrounge up a day 3 pick later
Go Kenny
Go Najee
Go Joey
Go Steelers!

I get the whole LT thing. This kid best be starting Day 1 and be a corner stone the next 10 years with 6-7 of them as a Pro Bowler. If Jibba is gonna go with the neanderthal pound da rock offense, why not grab a 2 for 1 player in Darnell Washington and run 2 TE. He's huge enough to chip block on the end and scary enough to terrorize DB's in the open field.955876 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:41 pmYou did leave out the part about also getting one of the top rated tackles.gojira5150 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:22 pmBOOOOOOOOOO!!A nepotism pick. Also if Jones is such a can't miss elite LT, why did he last until14. Normally those guys go in the top 10. I guess we will see. I have ZERO faith in Jibba and tired of his nepotism picks.
We also lost pick 120 in this scenario.
