Happy New Year Fury bitches

Nice weather

Could be a great day to heave the ball downfield

Anyone hear about this Pickens dude we drafted? Seems decent.

How about that polarizing rookie QB? Anyone heard anything about him? Hearing his hands are small and he is concussion prone with a weak arm.

Let’s go Steelers

23-20 Good guys

Steelers History of Needing Help to Qualify (From Memory):

1976: Needed Raiders to beat Bengals to win division with 10-4 record, 9 game win streak....happened.
1977: Had lost at Riverfront Stadium to Bungs weekend before, needed moribund Oilers to beat Bungs in order to win division with 9-5 record...happened....Steelers sent Oilers all attache cases.
1989: Needed Raiders to lose final two games, Colts to lose to Saints in finale, and finally Bungs to lose at Vikings on Christmas night...all happened. Steelers wild card with 9-7 record.
1993: Steelers needed Pats to beat Dolphins (sound familiar) and Oilers to beat Jets on season's final weekend....Oilers win the Sunday nighter, Steelers are in the tournament.
2005: Steelers need to win final four games AND have both Chargers and Chiefs lose 2 of their final four...happened, Steelers qualify as wildcard, win 3 road games on way to One for the Thumb.
2013: Didn't work this time...Steelers needed Jets to win at Dolpins (sound familiar?), Ravens to lose to Bengals, Chargers to lose to Chiefs. Two of the three happened, looked good when that mother-fucker Ryan Succop was setting up to kick a 43 yard FG that would have sent Steelers to the playoffs. Bitch missed it and I've hated him ever since.
2015: Steelers, after losing to shitty Ravens with a shitty journeyman QB the week before, need shitty Bills to beat Jets in finale. Jets win!! Steelers are in!!
2021: Steelers need shitty Jaguars to beat heavily favored Colts and Raiders-Chargers NOT to tie, while beating the Ravens in Baltimore. Jags destroy Colts, Steelers beat Ravens in OT, then sweat our Raiders avoiding tie by beating Chargers as OT is about to expire.

This time...zero margin for errors, basically need six games to all go Steelers way. It can happen!!

I actually think it's more likely that none of those 6 games go the Steelers way vs all six of them going the Steelers way. Anyone wants to take that bet, let me know.

You win if the Steelers make the playoffs and I win if the Steelers lose twice, + jets and dolphins win today,

Thats not an even bet, B2B. First thing you proposed that none of the six would go Steelers way

For the Steelers to have an actual real chance, both the Dolphins and Jets must lose today.

But only a Dolphins victory officially eliminates us before kickoff with the Ravens.

If the Dolphins lose and Jets win, we are still hanging on by our fingernails.

The Jets and Dolphins would have to tie next week (which, after the Chargers v Raiders on last year's final regular season game, I won't say is impossible... just unlikely.

Well, if the Jets & Dolphins win today, it's hard to say what the other two outcomes would be. I'd be fine with saying all 6 will not happen or I don't win, even though those other two games might be meaningless.

Raheem Mostert has to be the most underrated and overlooked RB of recent years. None of the RB-needy teams seem to be too interested in him, always bury him in the depth chart, think nothing of cutting him loose... then he shows up somewhere and balls out. Mad respect for that guy's career.

Hey maybe the Steelers, the legendary football organization that has won 6 Lombardi trophies, can go out and find an OC that has even a fraction of the creativity and play design acumen that the Detroit Lions have.

I mean surely the big bad successful Steelers can hire coaching talent on par with the Detroit fucking Lions, correct?

Who is in charge of the hiring?

Tomlin? Then the answer is no.

Khan/Weidl/STD? Sure.

Personally I’d like to see a quality transgender hire at OC

Sure we’ve addressed the lack of minorities in coaching, but how about the Steelers address the lack of a transgender coach?

I think it’s time. Put the league on notice.

Pats offense almost as bad as the Steelers. Almost.

To have any chance, they pretty much have to shutout the Dolphins for the rest of the game. Another TD will be too much to overcome for the anemic Pats offense.

Every time I see Mostert play, I think "why doesn't this guy play more?". I don't understand his career at all.

Yes! They need a defensive TD to win this game.

Is that missed XP going to haunt us?

At least the QB threw it beyond the first down mark. He was trying to pick up the 1st.
