Steelers at Vikings TNF Game Comments
Maybe the Steelers will try their 3rd down plays on 2nd downs—I think that would be the ticket!
We want a win. We need a win. Let’s do it.

Man a win would be awesome.
7-5-1 after a 1-3 start wouldn't be too shabby I must say.
Get through it healthy too. Then get a mini bye and watch everyone beat each other up on Sunday.
What would incredible is a comfortable Steeler win tonight. Like a Joe and Troy talking about bullshit in the 4th quarter type Steeler win.
Come on Tomln!!!! Get it done!!!

Would be great to not go 3 and out to start first offensive series….or second series
Would be great to use the offense we utilize in 4th quarter “comebacks” throughout the whole game.
Fuckin idiots coaching this team

Today would be a great day for Ben to change the narrative. Or at least to begin changing the narrative.
Despite the excellent 4th quarter vs the Ravens, I didn't hear a single sports show that doesn't think Roethlisberger is done and is playing out the string.
I mainly heard speculation about which QB the Steelers were going to pursue after this season. A few analysts even believe it could be Kirk Cousins who they opined, could probably be had for a 2nd rounder.
I don't know if Ben does social media, but if he does and the fire still burns in his belly.....tonight would be a great night to throw 5 TD passes and maybe win 35-17.

They ve been saying he sucks or is done pretty much his whole career though. Tomlins run defense better be on point, because all i'm reading is how Cook and the Vikes running game is gonna dominate this match up, and I fear they may be right on that.
With Bush and Schobert inside, dominating as usual, I don’t think we should be concerned.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 11:08 pmK_C_ wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 10:29 pmToday would be a great day for Ben to change the narrative. Or at least to begin changing the narrative.

No kidding
Gotta disagree or at least state I personally didn’t hear much Roethlisberger criticism until the wheels fell off last season.Greeksteel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 11:08 pmK_C_ wrote: ↑Thu Dec 09, 2021 10:29 pmToday would be a great day for Ben to change the narrative. Then it became worse and worse until the full on “he’s done” mantra from most in the media after the Cleveland playoff disaster.
When Ben started slowly (I’m being kind) this year, the “he’s done” analysts became pretty much every analyst.
I think the main issue with Ben is, we’re seeing flashes. Not sustained outstanding play from Roethlisberger.
Is the play calling the main reason we’re only seeing flashes or a poor o-line? Probably but I don’t think Ben will change the narrative until he plays a complete game. Not just a brilliant half or a great quarter now and then.

Nothing really new here KC, Ben is the most disrespected great QB to ever play imo, eventually they will be right, father time is undefeated after all, except for the HGH pounding Tom Brady, but Ben is nowhere near the level of bad that is written about him these days. Yes i mostly attribute it to play calling and Oline play and of course Tomlin.
Ben’s not as good as he once was
But
As a Ben apologist I’ll say the following:
His play has been hindered by:
Poor play calling
Worst Oline in a long time
Loss of JuJu
Lack of receiver separation
Receivers running wrong routes
His limited mobility

Can’t be Layne, right?
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
Is TheGlue starting?
Like to see if he can look adequate to good two weeks in a row.

Haden being out again is very, very large.
VERY, very large.
Color me worried about Justin Jefferson.

Who is the backup center? The two that were are out.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

We can definitely win this game. One of my sons went and got married to a Vikings fan so I have watched more games than I would have before that. Cousins is such a Cousins and the team in general chokes. In Primetime - I have to believe we get the victory.

Not sure how it works but "The Steelers elevated offensive linemen Rashaad Coward and Chaz Green to the Active/Inactive Roster for tonight's game against the Minnesota Vikings."

Ben showed what the offense is capable of in the 4th quarter of the Ravens game and the Vikings are shitty stopping the run.
Personally, I don't see the Vikings scoring more than 23 points no matter what.
I'll be shocked if Ben and the offense can't score more than 23 tonight.
But yeah....Jefferson is fucking scary. He's better than Chase. We will need one helluva game from Witherspoon or Sutton, whoever he lines up against.

Yeah I saw that but are either one of those guys centers? I remember the only healthy one left limping a few times last game.Texas Black & Gold wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 12:42 amNot sure how it works but "The Steelers elevated offensive linemen Rashaad Coward and Chaz Green to the Active/Inactive Roster for tonight's game against the Minnesota Vikings."

Maybe Witherspoon will breakout. He is the first corner I have seen on the Steelers to have good coverage and still have time to make a play on a ball in a long time. He actually looked like a real corner with his flying near interception last week.

Ah ok. I didn't know he played center. Thought he was a tackle in college. Just seemed kind of weird they weren't brining in another center.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 12:53 amI believe T-Bob Leglue is the backup C and they’ll bring Coward in as G
