The #Cowboys & RB Ezekiel Elliott agree on a 6-year, $90M extension that makes him the highest-paid RB in the NFL, sources tell me and @SlaterNFL. Roughly half guaranteed. In all, it's $103M over 8 years—the 1st Cowboy to eclipse $100M in total value, the richest RB contract.
Good luck signing all those pending free agents after giving $15m/year to a running back

He should probably thank LeVeon, I'm sure what he did last year was on Jerry's mind when trying to figure out what to do.

Giving that money to a RB BEFORE you lock up your QB is telling of how the Cowboys feel about Dak Prescott......
Maybe they are not sold on him yet....

Elliott and Bell each had a legit claim for best back in the league. Gordon doesn't even crack the top 5 (could be argued top 10). The Chargers would be idiots to pay him anything close the what Bell, Gurley, or Elliott got.

Here's an interesting stat: The Cowboys have the highest paid O-Line in the league by a WIDE margin. They allocate $13.5m more against the cap than the #2 team (New York Jets), which is the same difference between the Jets and #16 (Jacksonville).
This is what Dallas' cap situation looks like heading into 2020:
- $58m to the o-line
- $10m to Elliott
- $22m to Demarcus Lawrence
- $7m to Jaylon Smith
That's half of their salary cap allocated, and they still need to sign (or replace) the following starters: Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, Randall Cobb/Tavon Austin, Jason Witten, Maliek Collins, Sean Lee, Anthony Brown, Byron Jones, Jeff Heath.
Best. Of. Luck.

You're kidding, right?
Gordon isn't a pimple on Zeke's ass and won't get paid ANYWHERE NEAR what Zeke got.

And that is why owners and GM's have a problem right now - they are stupid. Let his ass rot at home. The Cowboys own him for the next 2 (or is it 3) years. He plays and gets paid, or sits and get nothing! GM's and owners are such pussies.

Yes, these owners are stupid.
Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, they had huge contracts and were not kept around to see the end of those contracts. Todd Gurley, the writing is already on the wall, the team knows they made a mistake in signing him to that contract. The Jets could very well move on from Bell if he really disappoints this year, head coach came out and said he didn't want him.

There are guarantees and then there are NFL guarantees.
I suspect it will be some signing bonus stuff this first year, front heavy for 2 years and then the 3rd guarantee year will be him playing the first week, and the Cowboys will have the option to cut him, just like the Jets with Bell.

The shouldn’t be ... zeke is more valuable then Dak
Spending 30mplus on Dak would be a mistake that keeps on giving

I’m not saying Gordon is going to get paid as much. Gordon doesn’t think he’s going to get paid as much. I’m saying this is the motivation and a lot of this started with our boy Juice.

Wait till you see Barkley’s 5 year/$120 mill contract with 100 mill guaranteed! It’s gonna happen, lol.

The Chargers couldn't give a shit less if Gordon shows up or if he doesn't.
They aren't going to budge one bit and if Gordon sits out all year, which this imbecile might be dumb enough to do (like the other imbecile Lev the Rapper did) the Chargers will laugh and not pay him again in 2020.

Yeah, the difference between Gordon and Elliott/Bell is the Cowgirls, and to a slightly lesser extent the Steelers, wanted to keep those players.
The Chargers have essentially told Gordon to sit the season if he wants (no more negotiations), report, or try and find a trade they like, with teams' caps and roster pretty much set. Essentially, go fuck yourself.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Plus the kid that is going to start for the Chargers now is good. He will put up similar numbers to Gordon. He has done that when spelling him in the past.

Should never give a RB a contract like that.

The funny thing is Bell basically proved sitting out the year is idiotic. Lost money on both ends.

Well, you can always apply the Antonio Brown method of getting more $$$ and start acting like a complete ass around the office. Paint your hair orange, talk mumbo jumbo, blame everyone else for your issues, toss some shit out the window, then speed off in your whip.
Works for him.
Best of luck nonetheless with the negotiations...

That will happen because the Giants currently have nothing outside of him. Coupled with their cap situation which is 63 million under the projected 2020 cap. They could be looking at 85 million to spend after getting rid of a bloated Qb C3 off the books- plus they got rid of a WR headache of their own without giving him c2 money after Julio Jones resets the bar.
Giants might have made splashes in the first rounds of the last two years on offense. But 90% of the rest of those picks were on defense. If Jones turns out to be gold- then they might be sitting pretty in two years before they have to pay him in four.
