B2B & Hollywood Brown

Post by tbsteel » Sun Sep 08, 2019 5:39 pm

So, that Hollywood Brown guy you were plugging and took a lot of shit for is having a somewhat decent first half so far for the Ratbirds... :?

Wow.

I was just going to start an AFC North thread to ask if we have something to worry about with Lamar.

He did have 10 seconds to make the throw on the 2nd one.

That was as good a deep ball as you're ever going to see. If they can pound you running it, be a good screen team, and make you fear the deep ball, it almost doesn't matter if Jackson can't hit the intermediate throws.

Love the way brown catches/snatches the ball out of the air.
I have been one of the few saying I think Lamar can be a good qb
Ravens are very well coached
But hard to tell too Much today as this dolphins team is one of the worst NFL teams I have seen in some time. Like kids playing men ... not sure they could beat a top college team

Dolphins are historically bad as presently put together.

but Hollywood Brown was easily WR1 in this draft

It's like a 7 on 7 drill. Dolphins are like 11 of those robot tackling dummies.

Brown looks A LOT like his cousin.

If Jackson is actually figuring out this throwing thing, which I said last season he would likely do, then the Ravens could quickly become the class of our division.

Everybody's talking about the Steelers and Browns.

The Ravens are going to be RIGHT THERE if Jackson takes the next step (and he's looked FANTASTIC against a horrible Miami team today).

You had the chance to draft him in rd 2 of our podcast, didn't you? You declined.

I always thought dude threw a decent deep ball, even last year, when given time and open WRs. He did at Louisville too.

But he was garbage last year generally speaking, I am sure he is somewhat improved, but think he will still struggle against decent defenses. Hard to judge anything from today in my opinion.

Just noticed RGIII had a 144 rating for Ravens today.......6/6 with a TD.

And we know how good he is!

They played Miami, who may be the worst team in the modern era.

Just saw some more highlights. LaMar is still aiming the ball to his receivers. He had all the time in the world today. If he has to throw off balance or can’t see the target he falls apart. He had to put zero zip on the ball from what I saw, and had hardly any tight windows. Scripted plays, all day to pass and zero coverage. Jackson still blows. This was worse than a preseason game. He is not figuring anything out.

He did have a nice throw to Brown on a long scramble and then fired a bullet, but nobody was on his heels though...just had to run a loop to escape and then run towards brown and fire. Pedestrian in the NFL.

Miami is a bad college football team, but Jackson was firing DARTS today.

He'll never be Joe Montana but he wasn't as bad a passer as he showed last season.

He definitely WILL get better throwing the ball and don't be surprised if he gets significantly better now that he has an actual deep threat receiver.

I will be surprised. He is not Mahomes, he is not Young, he is not Vick. I predict a mirror image of his backup, probably will end up with a similar injury. His darts were darts, and he was able to throw them just like you do in a bar, with nobody between him and the dart board or at his feet.

very hard to gauge the Ravens

I am certain that Clemson could beat the Dolphins right now

Steelers were a close second this week, with a first ballot HoF QB “throwing” passes. That’s pretty terrifying.
