Curtis Samuel - my belief

Post by Minkah'n History » Thu Nov 08, 2018 12:17 pm

This guy grew up right down the road from me, and went to the top( last 5-10 years imo) football high school in Brooklyn, Erasmus Hall.

He will line up in the slot throughout the game, be in motion, jet sweeping, WR screens, getting the ball in space. Why? This boy can RUN....4.31 at the combine. He's starting to come into his own. We talk about the lack of depth at WR after Funchess, but we need to wrap this guy up. I can see him making a big play tonight if we do not.

Thoughts? B2B? Anyone know how to game plan for this freak?

When healthy, he's a real weapon - and he's healthy. They are slowly giving him more plays each week. My guess is he'll get about 5 touches tonight (maybe more if they're playing from behind). I think we'll go dime (at least) when he's on the field, and that should increase our team speed enough to slow him down some. We will certainly have to account for gadget plays when he's out there though. Hilton might be our best bet to handle him. He possesses the short area quickness and sure tackling to do the job - at least, let's hope.

Thanks DP.

I agree, Hilton’s quick twitch movements might be best suited for him.

Hilton is a fucking baller. Playing as good as anyone on this defense.

I think every Steeler fan is underestimating the Panthers talent on offense

I like Samuel...I am far more concerned with McCaffery Olson and DJ MOORE

The Panthers offense has elite talent at the skill positions...Elite Speed.

The Panthers offense is very East West in the run game(Outside zone, Jet Sweeps...Option... RPO)... Makes Cam very dangerous on the QB leads

Panthers passing game will use the entire field...Spread defenses out and flood zones...Screens.

The Panthers offense needs the Steelers defense to play like fucking morons to be ultra successful.

The Steelers must...

Dominate the line of scrimmage
Keep run gaps
Cannot over pursue
Tackle in space
No blown coverage's/Dropped coverage's.

The Steelers need to physically dominate the Panthers on both sides of the ball

Sounds like you're back to preaching the "Gospel"... I miss the Gospel (but recognize what a huge effort it was).

Yeah, I'm with FC... Samuel is a nice piece, but there are bigger problems.

I like Joe Haden's chances vs DJ Moore. That seems like a good matchup.

Cam being Cam and McCaffery's general unpredictability and speed are big concerns.
