NFL TV Maps Week 9

Post by franco>madden » Wed Oct 31, 2018 6:51 pm

This week our Steelers try to regain legitimacy atop the AFC Norf by traveling to Baltimore to take on the hated Ravens.

Most over-the-air viewers around the country, however, will instead see a smorgasbord of other games (owing partly to the Steelers' early-season suckage and also to CBS having the single game telecast this week).

Those of you along the mid-Atlantic down to N'Orleans (plus Swiss & JL58 up in New England, and Vegas, baby!) will not only get the PGH/BAL tilt, but will also be relieved to know that your wish is granted: 'Grizzly' Dan Fouts will once again be offering his weekly priceless gems of wisdom from the broadcasting booth! So you've got that going for you. :o

I don't know if Fouts keeps getting the Steelers because they are torturing him or us.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I'm a bit happier as the game is being telecast in Toronto. I've been having a rough time with everything since Saturday morning. It was nice about all the Steelers including Franco Harris showing on Tuesday for the 2 brothers who were killed.

Amazing - we got the Browns game last week (not a real rivalry) but this week we don't get one of the best rivalries in football. Looks like it's a combo of the Redzone and SF gameday comments for me this weekend.

I think the person we should really be feeling sorry for is Ian Eagle.

Fouts makes me fondly remember early Solomon Wilcots.

I hear ya. I will try to drown out Fouts with plenty of alcohol ... but I am not sure anything really helps. I have a feeling Ian Eagle is thinking the same.

Wow, 6th game out of 8 that will have been on TV up here in Maine. Love it!

And, looking at the schedule, it appears that at least 6 of the final 8 will be on TV up here. For sure the 3 night games + New England. The two 4:25 games are likely on as the national game of the week. That only leaves out the Chargers and Bungs. And, I would not be surprised of either or both of them are on TV.

BTW, the Steelers 2nd half schedule is brutal. The only bad team they face is Oakland. Jax isn't playing well right now but they are talented. The Broncos aren't great, but they are not terrible either. And, that game is in Denver. The rest are all playoff contenders.

Thank God for the mute button.

Don't sleep on Oakland either. There have been some putrid Raider teams who have beaten the Steelers during the Tomlin era.

I guess the other way to look at it is, if we can't go 5-3 in the last 8 we definitely aren't a SB contender.

But 5-3 might not be enough if we lose to BAL....9-6-1 has to be about the cut-off to win the AFCN, or grab a wildcard. Much nail biting, per usual.
