On #Steelers RB James Conner: My understanding is the injury is not to his ankle and not considered major at all. Coach Mike Tomlin called it a contusion and it seems like he'll be OK, based on early impressions. How much it swells will be telling.

Got a chance to watch Saquan Barkley yesterday.

Dude can run.

We have promoted RB Trey Edmunds to our 53-man roster, and placed WR Justin Hunter on the Reserve/Injured List.

We have also signed LB Matthew Thomas to the Practice Squad, and released LB Farrington Huguenin from the Practice Squad.

With Hunter gone, steelers short on WR.

I guess James Washingtons 1 game in the dog house gets another chance vs the Raiders.

Have to assume Eli Rogers may also get activated now that Hunter is gone?
Who gets released?
If Conner is good to go by weeks end, they may waive Edmunds, back to practice squad.

Would really like to see the Steelers give another young WR a shot. The two kids on practice squad.
Tevin Jones, 6-2, 225
Trey Griffey, 6-3, 192........

Or better yet,
Go sign Damoun Patterson off the Patriots practice squad.
6-2, 190. Had a nice pre-season with the Steelers

This is the shit that pisses me off about Tomlin. Trey fucking Edmunds has no business on our roster. But hey, Tomlin going to do what Tomlin do. This is all Tomlin, not KC, imo. Two RBs taking snaps this week is not enough? Hopefully it's just for a few days, but I doubt it. If a 3rd RB is needed, Trey shouldn't be the man for the job.

Two things

No one here knows jack shit about Trey Edmunds.

This has also been the year of running backs coming out of nowhere to be good.

He is related to Terrell..like Watt or Gronk...those are good bloodlines.

FWIW..I work with a guy who was a huge Terp fan and he felt he was JAG. Big and slow...who really knows.

Looks like he ran a 4.48 at his pro day. Pretty good for 220 lbs. Also read he is excellent special teams guy which probably is all he will do with Ridley and Samuels getting the bulk of the carries.

Ben personally ended Hunter's season with that idiotic, moronic throw.

Apparently Ridley and Samuels aren't the next 'men' up? Apparently the Steelers are not comfortable or confident in the abilities of either Samuels or Ridley...Fucking train wreck. At the absolute worst time. The Steelers have to win at least 3 of the next 4 and that was a tall order already without the injuries. Damn.

Steelers picked up a FA RB Ralph Webb. Signed to the Practice Squad. A one time Patriot. https://247sports.com/nfl/pittsburgh-st ... 125878765/

Side Note: Why not pluck Patterson of the cheat practice squad. Dude was a surprise in preseason.

How did you get to this conclusion?

They seem prepared to go into battle with them. They brought up a guy from practice squad to be the #3, and replaced him on the practice squad with a new #4. Ho hum.

I know B2B it's been written on the wall since August. I chose to ignore it hoping that it wouldn't become a problem and didn't wanna jinx Conner. Steelers Blinders were on?

Win 3 of 4 for what? The division or just the playoffs. I think they can actually go 2-2 and still have a decent shot at either scenario.

Either way, these guys are likely one and done.

Tomlin Says Resume Of RB Trey Edmunds Is Centered Around Special Teams Play...

“I’ve seen a good skillset, I’ve seen a willing participant,” Tomlin said. “I’ve seen a guy who’s shown a skillset that’s maybe geared toward special teams – that’s potentially not a really common thing at the running back position. I know he earned his stripes in New Orleans in that capacity. So, forget what he’s able to provide us as a runner, this is a guy who’s going to be in uniform that has a resume that’s centered around some special teams contributions. And so, he’ll be given an opportunity there first and foremost, but I haven’t been displeased with what I’ve seen from him as a runner.” https://steelersdepot.com/2018/12/tomli ... eams-play/

I vote the Steelers look at this candidate to coach LB'ers... Just fired along with McCarthy in Greenbay.
