The Price for Darron Lee

Post by meanjustinbarlow » Sat Apr 13, 2019 6:15 pm

https://www.nj.com/eagles/2019/04/nfl-t ... sense.html

This article speculates the Eagles swapping a late 2 for an early 3 with the Jets to get Lee. The equivalent value of the swap would be the Steelers 4th and 6th...

Is that too rich for a guy who was once a Shazier protege??

Making a deal like this allows the team to focus on DB, EDGE, WR, and TE in the top 100... Just sayin!

Tough decision for me to make. A 4th and a 6th would be too rich IMHO. Lee hasn't quite had the NFL career projected to date. After a 4 game suspension for PED use I think that number should come down at least to just one draft pick. Not sure how the Steelers view Lee or if they even care to consider him as a prospect. He is only 24 years old but it begs to question. Why are they so willing to trade such a highly respected highly potential projected still young developing player? That said, I think Lee would be a solid fit inside for Pittsburgh. Can they find a similar talent in this years draft? Very possible.

And it’s possible Lee can’t play either

And he’s much more expensive than a draft pick ILB

Coverage wise Lee would be a huge upgrade over what's there now. Can't believe I'm even typing this part but, "especially after losing Fort in FA" the Steelers have nothing noteworthy at ILB. JMO

Artie Burns for Lee. They both get a fresh start.

Lee has been awful. Just because he was picked in the 1st round doesn't mean he is worthy of that pick. He isn't.

Possibly...but we definitely know that Vince Williams and Jon Bostic can’t play.
Is he more expensive then those guys?

I’m not saying they should do it...I’m saying that the should explore all possibilities.

4th and a 6th seems like a nice flier to take on a guy who may have been misused in NY....

Steelers brought in another 1st rounder from the Jets in 2002 who had never lived up to expectations... his name was James Farrior.....

Just sayin!!

Lee isn't exactly a good guy. I'd stay far away from this dude after the drama of the last few seasons.

Agreed. Only good guys need apply. Bad guys are no good. Let’s fill our roster w good guys. Good guys may not always have the best talent, but they’re good guys and good teammates, not bad guys and bad teammates. Raise your glass to the good guys.

Thought this little excerpt was relevant...

"I think [Belichick's] great strength is being able to deal in the pro market and being able to deal and take advantage of other organizations that transition, where they want to get rid of guys because they want to bring their own guy in, and get them at a discount." https://www.yahoo.com/sports/eric-mangi ... 42233.html
@NFLResearch
With top prospects A.J. Brown & Deebo Samuel visiting NE, are the @Patriots eyeing WR early in the #NFLDraft?

Well, in 19 drafts with the team, Bill Belichick has never taken a WR in the 1st round.

And all the Pats 1,000-yd WRs since 2000 have come by trade or late-rd pick.

This. Although he might fit in with Nick79's Mean Machine.

Hes already been suspended 4 games for violating the substance abuse policy and was caught on video having to be restrained by a teammate at a concert when he was trying to harass and assault a woman.
