Now that is a fucking Steel Phantom era kick ass post!
B too B sir you should eat as much delicious, salty food as you want and cut fucking loose.
I officially forgive you for ramming Jamie Collins down our throats, PS - Shazier's comeback will include playing croquet with Ivan Drago's kid's skull.

IF and it's a giant IF. IF Jamie Collins had been a 3-4 EDGE... with the Steelers... he's a local hero.

He's been bad in Cleveland, though, no joke.

8th in TD passes
11th in QB Rating
9th in Yards Per Attempt
11th in completion %
6th in game winning drives

for those that saw the stat about HOF QB head to head matchups... context:

2-6 vs Brady
1-4 vs Peyton
1-1 vs Rodgers
2-0 vs Favre
1-1 vs Warner
3-1 vs Rivers
2-2 vs Brees

12-15 overall
10-9 vs everyone but NE

I'm not really sure what's going on here, it's like Ben died and we're doing a retrospective. I hope I didn't miss out on such tragic news.

I didn't put much stock into the HOF qb matchup stat. Last I checked, opposing qb's aren't even on the same field at the same time.

To me, a more meaningful stat would be HOF QB's vs some measure of a great defense.

Ie... I'd imagine ben's record against those phenomenal raven d's was better %-wise than Brady's or manning's....at minimum, similar.

Good stuff. 39 TDs is beastly.

Arrow pointing up on this offense. I expect Ben to have more TD throws 2nd half of the season than he did during the first 8 games.

If I have it correctly, 39 is the most anyone has in that time frame. Next best is, I think, 35.

While we're bowing before Ben, I got into a twitter conversation about which QB stats are most relevant to determining the best of the best. I said, "most people will say the opposite, but I think wins and winning-related stats aren't perfect, but are pretty damn good--better than stat accumulation, completion percentage, QB rating and so on.

For example, once Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan have one more win each, the top 15 and top 30 will a pretty representative list of Super Bowl era QBs:
1 Tom Brady
2 Peyton Manning
3 Brett Favre
4 John Elway
5 Dan Marino
5 Drew Brees
7 Ben Roethlisberger
8 Fran Tarkenton
9 Johnny Unitas
10 Joe Montana

11 Eli Manning
12 Philip Rivers
13 Terry Bradshaw
14 Warren Moon
15 Jim Kelly

16 Donovan McNabb
16 Dave Krieg
16 Drew Bledsoe
19 Aaron Rodgers (1 win behind 16th and 2 behind 15th)
19 Matt Ryan (1 win behind 16th and 2 behind 15th)
21 Ken Stabler
21 Joe Flacco
23 Phil Simms
24 Steve Young
24 Bart Starr
24 Len Dawson
24 Troy Aikman
28 Bob Griese
29 Roger Staubach
30 Steve McNair

Dan Fouts is one outlier that ought to be in there; Russel Wilson is on track. Kurt Warner's career was too short... but otherwise it has pretty much the cream of the crop.
