Sour grapes from silverback. But hey, he got the mother of all shafts from Mike T. So he has a right to be bitter and take the player's side.
But...
Squash that noise about faking an injury. Let Primadonna Bell try that for a couple weeks. If I'm on the defense and Bell is running around, lighting it up for the cameras in practice and then pretending on Saturdays, I'm going to do my best to remind him what Sundays feel like. I'm going to take him down a notch or two in practice.
And the way the O line might feel about his bullshit, they might just miss a block from time to time.

What a mess and a shame this situation is.
Make sure you tell your son this too Harrison. You know, the one who you didn't want to receive a participation award.
Go tell him you're telling a pro to fake an injury. Fucking fraud, just go away already!

Wouldn't this be larceny if proven?

Let's remember that James has multiple screws loose, and is pretty well known to be a vindictive sumbitch, as well. As long as someone puts a mic in front of him, he's probably not going to miss an opportunity to troll the PS for the rest of his life.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

If Bell acted this way, I think other owners would be less inclined to pursue him. Bad advice, and I love Harrison.

Larceny is Bell's middle name.

Good point. I was thinking the same thing. Can't imagine being "hurt" for 6 weeks in a row would up your value. But a physical and impressive workout would probably convince your prospective team that you're fine.
I think the NFL should have a lottery for him and the winning team gets him for the veteran minimum. Poetic justice. And it would make for a great rap song about being oppressed. He'd make up all the money he lost in no time...because he's such a great rapper, afterall.
The PEDs are starting to affect Harrison’s brain...

My boy Mark Madden just destroyed Harrison on Twitter over this.

I will always be a big fan of the player but I can't defend this shit. Guess he's good with continuing to nuke any relationship he may have with the organization down the road.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Fuck James Harrison.
He used to be my favorite, but he's proving to be completely unloyal, short-sighted, vindictive, childish and just plain fuckin' dumb.
Fuck him. For someone that hated the media so much, fuck is he doing hanging out with Skip Bayless on TV? Dude has no integrity.

A childish mind attempting to resolve a big boy matter. Harrison needs to mind his own business.

Yeah, he has a screw loose, but if not for him, we're still stuck at five, and Tomlin doesn't have his one sticky Lombardi. Also, Mark Madden can go fuck himself and go back to eating dog shit.

No. It wouldn't even be breach of contract. And it is impossible to prove.

I can’t stand Tomlin now. But it was Tomlin who cut a still productive Joey Porter and gave Harrison his job. It was Tomlin who brought Deebo out of retirement and gave him another salary. Harrison is a jerk.
He threatens Fat Madden, let him try to check Pouncey. Fuckin Bully.

He has as much right as anyone to get that "media money". I mean, he makes just as much sense as Michael "the mouth" Irvin or horse face Sharpe.
And Tomlin might have coaxed him out of retirement, but then in typical Tomlin fashion, did not utilize him. Silverback wasn't bench pressing VW bugs and pulling train cars for his health. Wait, he actually was doing that. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!
Tomlin mis uses our talent more than Skip Bayless hates on Le'brick. And my point is that Deebo didn't work out so hard to ride the pine. AND WE NEEDED HIM.
But none of that changes the fact that his comment was bat shit crazy.

I think your memory is a little hazy about Porter's productivity. Porter was absolutely done after the 2005 season. Didn't do shit from 2006 on. Didn't do it in Miami either. Harrison earned the job because he was far better than Porter ever thought of being. Porter had some really good games during his career - the Colts playoff game to be precise - but much of the time, he was all fucking mouth. Like he is now as a linebackers coach - useless.
I agree, his comment is fucking nuts, but I'm not going to hate on the guy for comments like I don't hate on Terry Bradshaw for his. Both have made significant contributions to Steeler championships, and for that, I will always eternally grateful to them.

I think Harrison is acting like an asshole....but that doesn’t change my views on last year. They should have played him in the rotation. They are conservative stupid fucks and they have fucked up the Lev Bell situation just as badly.

Actually, I think your memory is hazy if you think Porter didn't do shit from 2006 on. Or maybe you don't watch other games besides Steeler games?
Joey Porter in the 2008 season for Miami had 17.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, made the Pro Bowl, etc. Harrison never had 17.5 sacks in a season, only a career high of 16. Back to Porter, those 3 seasons in Miami he had 32 sacks.
If you don't care for him as a coach fine, but Porter was able to go to another NFL team and STILL perform at a high level, setting a career high in sacks for a season, still made a Pro Bowl. James Harrison can't make the same claim. What did Deebo do in Cincy again? Or last season with NE?

There is a bunch of utter shit memory here along with selective memory and cherry picking. Then there is intellectual dishonesty.
1) Porters knees had been going for a while. He was missing time and Silverback was more productive overall.
2) Porter wanted a huge C3 contract way beyond his recent production.
3) Cowher had to beg him to come back for his last year.
4) Miami overpaid for him. He gave them one insane year out of nowhere, but was average otherwise.

Why is it always one or the other with you people? He sucks! He was great! He played better than James Harrison ever could! He couldn't sniff James Harrison's jock strap!
In his time with Miami, he started as a 4-3 WLB and wasn't asked to blitz often. He had a 5.5 sack season, followed by a 17.5 sack season when utilized properly, followed by a 9 sack season. Was he overpaid? Yes. Was Harrison better? Yes. Was he still a productive player? Absolutely.
Good lord.

And personally, I believe the Steelers let him walk without an offer because they were bringing in a young, new HC and they didn't want Joey to hold out or cause other problems with this alpha mentality. They didn't want to pit a brand new HC against an absolute fan favorite. We all loved Joey. That, and he was too expensive.

When other teams HATE one of our own, you know they are doing something right. Peezy did a LOT right.

The only utter shit memory here is yours Slobber. Porter missed all of 4 starts in his 7 years as a starter for Pittsburgh. Those that point to the two seasons where he only started 15 games, he was held out of the last game of the season just like all of the other top starters each of those years.
Why wouldn't Porter want a big contract coming off his recent production at that time? In 2005, he had 10.5 sacks, 2 INTs, 4 FF and added 3 sacks in the playoff run, won a Super Bowl. 2006 was a big letdown for a number of reasons across the whole team but Porter still had 7 sacks, another 2 INTs, one that he scored a TD on. Again, that seems to be a player justified in thinking that he can still play and play well, he only turned 29.
Porter was not average in Miami, they used him in a lot of roles, I remember them moving him around more than we did, using him even as a DE, at OLB. I remember him lining up on the right, on the left. 5.5 sacks his first year, was good in coverage, 5 passes defensed, another 2 INTs. 32 sacks in 3 years is not average play, or mediocre play, wasn't Joey's contract something like 5 years, and $30+ million? Didn't Harrison and Woodley sign contracts a few short years later that were $50-60 million? Woodley signed that $61 million contract in 2011, Miami spent half of that to sign Porter in 2007, which team got hosed more?
It is ridiculous how some people get a hard on for a certain player, like a James Harrison and have to retcon his history and belittle other Steelers players to make him out to be even better than he was.
Yeah, I loved watching Harrison play back in the day, but I also enjoyed watching Porter. Both players won Super Bowls as starters. You want to discount Porter's 17.5 season? Fine let us discount Deebo's 16 sack season, what else did Deebo do really? So we discount each players big season and what did they do? Deebo had 3 seasons of 9 sacks or more, Porter had 5 such seasons. Harrison ended his career with 84.5 sacks, Porter had 98 sacks. Harrison really only had 4 good/great seasons and the rest were kind of meh.
I get that people hate Porter as a coach and feel he is solely responsible for our OLB not being studs, that he sucks as a coach, but come on, as a player he was very good, even great and helped us bring home a Lombardi. What next, Santonio Holmes is a bum? What other players do people feel need taken down a peg or two? That was overrated? A bum?
