The ball was on the 39 so it would have been a 56 yard FG. That's no gimme. They needed more yards and only had 20 seconds to work with. A pass play is an appropriate call in that situation.

I think they could have run the ball for a few more yards. Call time out. Then attempt a FG.
Or at least a shorter higher percentage pass.
