Re: Steelers Training Camp Details:
Saw this right in front of me today. Have to admit I was like. Hey. Hold up. Was that a professional downfield pass by a Steelers QB?

We're going to have the worst pair of starting tackles in the entire NFL this year.

Anyone think they’ll give Waitman a fair shot at keeping the punting job now that the other dude has recovered? He was sure an upgrade over Harvin.
He's a guard who can't handle NFL speed. Dumervil embarrassed him before he blew out his fucking kneecap.jebrick wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 2:19 pmIn shorts against Watt on day 1 of camp. Seeing they signed Chuck Clark at safety.
Another 30-ish year old brought in to compete with Thornhill I read.
So secondary is looking Old but potentially formidable [on paper] with Porter/Slay/Ramsey and Thornhill/Elliott/Clark.
Johnson/Castro in the reserve at Safety and Trice/Kent in the reserve at Corner.

With the exception of Joey Jr, the Steelers have an old and SLOOOOW secondary.
Especially at safety
Former Rats Deshon Elliot and Chuck Clark (Marcus Williams in for a visit) are hitters
Seabass Castro is physical but sundial slow
“Jog” Thornhill didn’t get that moniker because of his all out hustle
Hopefully these slow bastards are smart enough to overcome Austin/Tomlins communication gaffes
Nick Markakis on Astros: "Every guy over there needs a beating."
Yeah, but with Tomlin logic slow bastards are less likely to run themselves out of positionSteeldrama wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 7:35 pmHopefully these slow bastards are smart enough to overcome Austin/Tomlins communication gaffes

Soft tissue injury for Broderick Jones. Not considered serious according to Tomlin.

Not adding a swing Tackle is really going to hurt
There will be the camp casualties scrapheap to dumpster dive in, and they should probably consider it.

I feel you correct on that a total shame.
Tacobelle Patterson released. Earned some points with me for calling himself "old washed up" on the way out, and wondering why it took the Steelers so long.
Opens up the spot for that scrap heap hail Mary at OT.

Or, since we've got the roster spot open and a little cash to play with, kick the tires on recently available Christian Wilkins? I'll let others insert the jokes, but the Ravens could kiss having the best DL in the division goodbye if we did.

That would be funny to add would not be a bad add. I hear people talking on Burks if he is released for Tenn IR
I had the same thought, we need to take flyers even on some of talented head cases...but isn't he still rehabbing a foot fracture? And isn't him handling the rehab badly part of the reason his contract was voided?
Yes, but we've got the depth to stash him for a while, and hopefully getting him next to somebody like Heyward might help with the maturity issues.
Regarding Burks, the collarbone is a pretty long term injury.

Is it the foot injury using HR issues to give him the boot? LoL.
……. Christian Wilkins, who was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, kissed a fellow player on the head and the teammate took offense to it, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

If you can look past the minor details – like the thumb in the Buckeye player's ass, the locker room displays of affection, or the tickle sessions – then yes, he'd be a huge asset to the defense.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.
Probably.pickarooney wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 3:17 pmAnyone think they’ll give Waitman a fair shot at keeping the punting job now that the other dude has recovered? He was sure an upgrade over Harvin.
He'd save them some money- and I'm sure the team will attempt to trade one of them.

WOW. I've never heard these stories. Maybe he can do the thumb in the rear on King HenryCharles Demarr wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:42 pmIf you can look past the minor details – like the thumb in the Buckeye player's ass, the locker room displays of affection, or the tickle sessions – then yes, he'd be a huge asset to the defense.![]()
Obliteration Is Imminent
I remembered the weirdness from the bowl game, but didn't realize until someone made a compilation just how many similar incidents there were. Dude is definitely an odd bird.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:42 pmIf you can look past the minor details – like the thumb in the Buckeye player's ass, the locker room displays of affection, or the tickle sessions – then yes, he'd be a huge asset to the defense.![]()

Charles Haley would be the end of all that.
Or the beginning of an everlasting love.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

iirc, Haley used to jerk it in the locker room, while staring at other dudes
Ike some seriously crazy shit lol

This is accurate. ANd I know you're talking about Charles Haley (not the cuck we employed).
Difference is, Charles Haley was a great enough player where people tolerated him because he was that good. You can't be a weirdo in this league and be average
Pretty sure Haley also took a dump in a teammate's helmet.
In other news, Broderick Jones back at practice today and apparently looked passable from a play/knowledge standpoint, at least from the source I saw.

One could describe the defensive performance during last season's playoff loss as a tickle session.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:42 pmIf you can look past the minor details – like the thumb in the Buckeye player's ass, the locker room displays of affection, or the tickle sessions – then yes, he'd be a huge asset to the defense.![]()
