I don't watch much nfl football outside of the Steelers but I can't remember seeing a run defense this bad...ever.

This is the team philosophy. They draft and extend below average linemen. This organization was fine with an undrafted guy that has no business being a starting left tackle protecting the franchise's blind side. They simply suck at evaluating olinemen and it's been that way for over a decade. You screw up once or twice and it's an error. With the continued failure one can only come to the conclusion that it's by design. Nobody is being held accountable for these continued failures. It's embarrassing at this point.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Timmons got a good helmet to helmet shot on Flacco at the end on the goal line.

I bet Ben wishes sometimes that he had the Steeler defense to play against in a real game. Ben saw Ravens corners within 5 yards of his WRs, whereas Flacco saw an easy throw to Steve Smith because nobody was covering him, unless you think Troy being lined up 12 yards off is "covering" him.

Lazy Fat Gilbert and Herpes Thomas uber alles. They aint gettin benched boys. No fuckin way. Three toed sloths laugh at the slowness of Tomlin when it comes to changing players that he hung his hat on. Scrubs and backups make one fuck up and they are in the fuckin doghouse but the starting 22? It takes four games and a brutalization like Jared Allen laid on Adams four a switch to be made.

It isn't like they gave a huge signing bonus to him. They only pay something like $7 million over the first two years, only $2.2 million this season and it is back loaded.

He has probably two years to round into shape and if he doesn't, they cut him in the offseason 2016.

I just see more of the same from LeBeau this season. Nothing seems to have changed. We are probably still going to give up 20+, 40+ yard run and pass plays every game, still going to have little to no sacks, no turnovers.

At some point you have to make a change in coaching if the players are just not getting it. The Rooneys are not going to let Colbert or Tomlin go and LeBeau is running out of time. If this season is just like the last two, defensively, they are going to move on from LeBeau.

Yeah, you don't wanna lose these 2 studs.

Steelers still need a WR opposite of AB that can get open.

And they need a fucking O line that can block.

This offense isn't going anywhere without that

My speculation as well I posted in the game thread. Ben was way off after that hit to the chest. I think its something we're not going to like when we find out. AB took a nasty hit himself. It's like the rats took out all this rice outcry bullshit on the pansy steeler team that showed up tonight. I hope for a revenge game November 2nd. 55-0. 8-)

Gilbert had defenders?

Outside of Pouncey, I haven't heard anyone say one good thing about him.

Pouncey has proven to be a poor judge of character and football talent. How the fuck he tricked the Steelers into draft Gilbert and Rainey are beyond me.

I have something good to say about Gilbert. He hasn't taken out a teammate's knee yet this year.
He is probably good at eating pizza.
I would play Adams...sigh.

He looks like Ryan Clark in 2006. Best we can hope for is the same career arc.

Soft combined with WEAK. That front seven just doesn't have the sand in their pants to play a physical team. Just getting DESTROYED off the snap of the ball. I couldn't believe what I was seeing last night. Last week I thought it was the no huddle and the fact that they didn't get set before the snap. This week, looked like a pee wee team playing the 65 Bears.

Yeah I noticed that too but it didn't register til your post. Amazingly Ben held onto the ball there too. Bad night of Football for these guys. Going to have to go start preparing for the Panthers at Carolina another road game.

On the bright side, I assumed a loss to BAL on the way to starting 6-2....granted, I didn't expect a miserable showing in a blowout but there are no style points in losing, either

I want to change my 10-6 to 6-10, but it's week 2, and maybe we can turn it around. We had 3 turnovers that = points, maybe we can turn this shit around? But I will say, our D is the biggest problem, they are garbage. Forget about what LeBeau has "done for us in the past" and fuck it, change shit!

Well, if you can't throw 10-15 yards down field in the 2014 NFL, you are fucked.

They can't stop anything! The offense has to be given the keys to this car and just take your chances, Open the game as if you're down 14 with 2:00 left and act like you're in a big rush to SCORE MORE. Forget establishing anything, just pile up points, I still believe they can do it, just stop assuming the defense can make even one stop. The attitude should be that stops by the D won't happen and fight for scores. Put into your mind that 42-38 is a desirable NORM.

Munchaks OLine needs to protect better and the offensive coordinator needs to be shown the strait jacket and rubber round room. I start with the house cleaning by firing Haley. Then start to re-evaluate the left over staff. Starting with Tomlin and working down. Once I'm done with the coaching staff I re-evaluate the FO personnel starting with Colbert.

The OLine being the problem is bullshit. If you watch the game Ben was looking to release about 1-2 seconds after the snap on just about the majority of pass plays. Blame the OLine all you want (it has some warts). The reason we didn't make a single throw over 20+ yards is all scheme/play calling. At the very LEAST we could have tried for the token PI call.. But we didn't.
