2026 Salary Cap

Post by StillerDownSouth » Fri Jan 30, 2026 8:48 pm

NFL projected upcoming salary cap to be 301-305 million this season, holy smokes...10 years ago it was 155 million.

Yeah, it's crazy. When I looked this year, I was half-expecting PIT to be up against the cap after all that money to TJ and DK. I also remember just a year or two ago it was like $250M.

What most people might miss is this means any FA worth a damn is likely to be franchised/re-signed. When the cap goes up like this you don't see the usual "cap casualties". Which will make the pro-Pickens contingent even more irate because pretty quickly PIT is going to struggle to find guys to spend the required cap min on.

Opens up a possible trade though for a guy like AJ Brown.

This is what happens when you jack up the cost of NFL Sunday Ticket and people like me keep buying it…..a juiced up salary cap. Maybe the baseball players should take note.

Also opens up the possibility of us trading TJ

Won't happen. Yinzers are more interested in hero worship than winning championships. And Rooney has neither the brains or the balls to do what needs to be done. Plus he probably has the organization over a barrel for fucking up his lung.
