If you’re looking for some good vibrations depot’s Kazora [dude knows Steelers football] has an article about the potential hires.

https://steelersdepot.com/2026/01/predi ... ing-staff/

Seems like solid list [to me] with tons of potential for development as far as staff go. Hopefully!

Something during fraudlin’s career of staff members were all missing and failed to do. Develop and evolve with the game.

One of the biggest reasons this team sucks is the Rooneys won’t pay for a complete or quality staff

Every unit should have a position coach at least 2 assistants and at least two interns

QB
RB
TE
WR
OL
DL
ILB
OLB
CB
ST

That’s 11 at 5 apiece that’s 55 at 3 it’s 33

I can pretty much guarantee you the Steelers won’t even break 30

Hell

Let’s be honest

20 would be a big leap

Udinski, i would bring him in for OC with McCarthy as HC manager Bills are prob gonna snatch him
Jaguars OC Grant Udinski withdrew his name from consideration for the Browns’ head-coaching vacancy.
Udinski becomes the third coach to remove his name from consideration for the Browns job, joining Mike McDaniel and Jesse Minter. Udinski was a finalist for the job, but is now eyeing the Bills as a potential landing spot for his first head coaching gig. If he doesn’t join the Bills, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Udinski and the Jaguars already have a new deal in place for him to remain with the team. Udinski, 30, has emerged as one of the hottest names on the market and would become the youngest head coach in NFL history if hired by the Bills.

He’s already OC so can only be offered HC jobs. That plane has sailed.

So they’ve got us by our Scott McCurlies. Great.

No legit OC is going to come to PGH unless they were just part of a group that was fired. Daboll interests me since he’s been a good/great OC in the past. I’d also take a look at Monken if he wouldn’t mind being paired with MM.

The MM hire is very meh - the only way we salvage this is if he brings in some great coordinators. They are out there you just need to break the pattern.

The weirdest thing Art II said to explain the rush to hire McCarthy was to put together a staff and he explicitly said some of the names McCarthy (who is coming off more and more like a used car salesman who completely bamboozled Art II) mentioned in the interviews were guys under contract with other teams:

"He's in the process right now of trying to hire a staff," said Rooney. "It's not an easy task, because some of the people he'd like to hire are under contract to other teams, and so we've got to get permission to talk to them. But just in general, the people he had targeted for key positions – offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and those kinds of things – we were very comfortable with the discussion around that."

Like, you pretty much don't need permission if you are giving a guy a clear promotion. Just found the statement odd. It probably means nothing as I'm fairly certain other teams would laugh and hang-up if the Steelers called about poaching their coaches for lateral moves.

But odd.

That's a hard no from me, dog.

Yea, the names mentioned so far are just the sort that I'd expect who would want to hitch their wagon to Mike McCarthy and Art II at this point. I guess we make it a three-headed dragon with Omar now, as well.

Newest coordinator projection. Not sure if this is just throwing logical connect-the-dot info at the wall hoping it sticks…
Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells is expected to interview this week for the Steelers offensive coordinator job, Wells worked under Steelers HC Mike McCarthy in Dallas for five years, and interviewed this month for the Commanders OC job. He also is head coach for the west team in tonight’s East-West Shrine game.

That's probably because Tomlin's staff was horrible, by his choosing.

Didn’t that same coaching staff win a Super Bowl?
